Opinions on T-Mobile in South Louisiana

Any opinions of T-Mobile in the south Louisiana area? I have had it with AT&T and from what I hear, Verizon is not much better. What kind of signal strength? How quickly is service restored in storms? Overall dependability? Any other info I should know? Thanks.

They have 3rd party signal strength maps.

Recently switched from Verizon to T-mobile and saving about $200/month! I have 2 teenagers phones, wife's phone and a work device all included on the same bill with my phone.
I find the service comparable to Verizon. Maybe slightly fewer dropped calls with Verizon when service gets spotty.
Otherwise only one time did the service get interrupted in the last 4 months due to a tower being down. Happened right when I got t-mobile so it made me feel like I made a bad decision, but since then, no real big difference from Verizon besides the huge savings.
I live in St Tammany Parish.

Thanks. I am in Lafourche. My bill with AT&T was about $160 for 2 phones about 2 years ago. Just got a notice that they are going up and my new bill will be about %240/month. Ridiculous.

I will check that out but it is always good to hear from a live person. Thanks

Only thing Ive found that works on the coast (Cameron) is Verizon.

T-Mobile has been the best carrier for a while now. Verizon has been dog water for 8+ years but they charge the most so people think they’re worth a shite

Any Prarieville T mobile users or lower plaquemines parish? Family members keep telling us to switch from Verizon.

I use to like them, but they are now just as bad as the rest. I have had it with T mobile. You use to be able to get the best deals as an existing customer, and that just is no longer the case. I will probably go back to hopping between carriers, I think ATT is next. They will pay off any phone contracts I have with T mobile, my bill will be lower... for now, and I get all new phones with my trade ins plus a few hundred to spend at Costco. I'll rinse and repeat in a year or two.

Works great in Grand Isle! Even on busy weekends like the 4th of July.

Been with Mint for almost 2 years now.
Zero complaints.
Mint is T-Mobile, just cheaper.

Good to hear GI 12. Anyone have opinions while in the spillway in Morgan City?

I have T-mobile on my work phone and ATT on my personal phone. I've never had any issues with either of them

I hated T mobile. Hardly any reception once you left Baton Rouge. Would never go back

I’ve had both Verizon and TMobile. I live in Baton Rouge. I found the coverage about the same. I’d go with whoever gives you the best deal.

Sort of. Mint rents T-mobile towers, and if traffic is congested, then Mint is deprioritized, and you get slower speeds with mint compared to T-mobile.
Same way that Comcast rents towers from Verizon and comcast is deprioritized during periods of high usage.

It works well in populated areas where you should expect service, dead zones where you wouldn't be surprised. Had it here for 15 years (originally Sprint until the merge) and it is about what you would expect for a traditional phone service.
The downside is they do not have a lot of upgrade phone options that you can purchase from them or other stores. Every time I look at Best Buy and similar stores, there are more phone upgrade deals for AT&T/Verizon and almost none for T-Mobile, so I would have to purchase an unlocked phone if I want an upgrade outside of buying directly from T-Mobile.
They give away something for free every Tuesday at stores. My BIL got free MLB TV for the year when it was available, no tricks or strings attached. Prettycool deal and I think those types of offers are limited to one account and cannot be used across different phone lines.
