He a DOJ lawyer at the time. Certainly sounds shady. Like a meeting on the tarmac
When he realized he wouldnt stop the indictment, he resigned

quote:
As the indictment was handed up, there was another prosecutor in the courtroom: Comey’s son-in-law Troy Edwards Jr., who worked as a prosecutor in the same US attorney’s office now indicting the former FBI director. Edwards went in to speak with the judge privately in chambers for about 30 minutes before the public court proceeding.
Not long after the indictment was announced, Edwards submitted his resignation.

Very tarmac-y.
The fact that he thought he could or should have any effect at all is damning in and of itself, if you ask me.

We should probably just open up some camps and get this thing going.
Get it over with.
Get it over with.

judge might have told him that he needs to resign and lawyer up

Well, that's funny. I was told earlier today that judges were assigned to cases on a purely random basis.
The skeptic in me has to wonder why they were meeting if Comey hadn't even been indicted yet. It's almost like they ALREADY KNEW he would be the presiding judge.
But, I'm absolutely certain that one or both of our resident know-it-all lawyers will be along shortly to tell us "there's nothing to see here."

Isn’t that considered obstruction of justice? Or is that only if you attempt to lean on a witness?

Two tiered justice system

That accounts for approximately ninety seconds... what of the other 27 1/2 minutes?

I was a law clerk for a federal district judge. My boss would NEVER have taken that meeting.

Trying to queer the indictment with an ex parte communication

The appearance of impropriety used to be a real thing, I'm told.

Well... that was then.
Although, this judge has time to recuse and maintain his reputation.
Best case? I'd LOVE if this meeting were recorded and reported.
