Just curious if anyone has any experience and possible feedback on their pt92, which i believe is a Beretta m9/92F clone.

I had one that had a sketchy safety. If you tried to shoot it double action with the safety on it'd let you pull the trigger then everything would get in a bind. It wouldn't shoot with safety on but in a SHTF situation you could possibly end up with a gun that identified as a brick. Traded it and a $100 for a real beretta.

There is a rebate for the 92fs right now and I’d just pay up and get the Beretta.

I did. It was a bucket list gun for me and I just never bought one. So happy I did. Shoots really great.

I have 2 TX22s. The one I've shot has worked flawlessly. Haven't had any issues with ammo. Much more accurate than I was expecting. Haven't shot my 2nd TX22 yet but I put an FRT in it so who knows how that'll turn out

I'm still hesitant to buy other calibers from Taurus

I have a tx-22. Haven’t had it all that long but I’ve yet to make it through a single mag with out some type of jam.

Using CCI velocitors and mini-mags in it.

I have a g2c 9mm. Purchased in 2021 when hand guns were harder to find and priced up.

My sons have Glocks and my wife a Sig.

I've never had any issues. Everyone that's ever shot it admits it's a great option for the money.

CPO Beretta M9 $474.00
No tax and shipping insured should be around $40 to your FFL.
No rebate on CPO guns.

Taurus guns are made in Brazil on old Beretta tooling. They aren’t as accurate and are going to have more issues than Beretta out of the box. The gun in the link is a great deal and around the same price as a new PT92.

Break down the magazines and clean them thoroughly. I did that with my TX22 and it vastly improved performance.

Having said that, as I’m sure you know, no .22 is as reliable as a center fire caliber.

Did that. No help yet

Yes, but my browning buck mark, S&W mp22 compact are exponentially better.
I worked on my Sig P322 and it’s even better now.

Just buy a Beretta and you don’t have to worry about Taurus problems. There are sales or rebates all the time on various 92 models.

From a Beretta 92 fanboy.

I agree with what multiple people have said. If you're looking at the Beretta clone, just pay a little more and get the Beretta. Especially with the rebates on a bunch of them

I have a g2c that I carry whenever I might have to leave it in the truck due to carry restrictions. It has always gone bang when I wanted it to. Pretty good for the price.

Taurus makes good revolvers
Taurus makes bad semi-autos
Some buyers get lucky

My father has had one for over 20+ years and has always worked well for him. He has probably killed more hogs from his truck with it than he has with the rifle he carries on the back seat when checking his fields.

He bought a crap load of Winchester Ranger law enforcement ammo at an auction years ago and it is all that he has fired through it.

We've got an old Airweight .38 Taurus. Nothing special, can be a pain to shoot since it is a snubnose and very light with a small grip, but it has never had a problem.

I wouldn't buy one of their Semi-autos.

I don’t have experience with that particular model….but I couldn’t imagine that it is any better than the others thst I have experience with.

I can’t imagine why Taurus has not gone out of business as a firearm manufacturer.

I've got 3 Taurus handguns, 2 revolvers (22LR and airweight 38 spcl) and a semi-auto (G2c). All 3 have run well for me. The 22LR is about 30 years old. The 38 is about 15 years old and has been used off and on for concealed carry (front pocket). I bought the G2c after finding a good deal on it (Total cost $200 after cashing in the rebate) about 5 years ago. I was curious how it would shoot as I'd read of some folks having a lot of problems w/ them. Mine has been both accurate and reliable. It's my main carry gun when I'm hunting or outdoors. Taurus handguns traditionally have a spotty record for reliability, but the G2 series (it's had a lot of name changes through the years) seems to run well. I don't know anything about the PT92 series. Let us know what you get.

I’ve got a pt92 from the 80s that was gifted to me. Ran some old ammo through it and it was ftf and eject. Tore it down lubed it up and new ammo is much better. Doesn’t seem very accurate though.
