Holly’s attorney, Michael Small, says the trial date was set for April 27, 2026, and a final status conference has been set for April 20, 2026.

Judge Clement also decided to not grant the State’s request to move the case out of Union Parish, ruling that the issue could be considered during the jury selection process.

If he is indeed innocent, I’d be a mad SOB that it took this long.

Right to a speedy trial?

Did he request these delays or the prosecution?

I think it was the prosecution for the initial delays. He was set for trial in July, but the courthouse had a broken AC so it was pushed again.

That’s the one I’d be raising hell over. Pushed a year because the AC went out?

He does have that right but has to make that request. He didn’t. It doesn’t just automatically happen that way. And most of the time, it’s to the defendant’s benefit not to fast track a trial

How much you want to bet that date gets pushed back again for some dumb reason?

At this rate, Hollys trial may never get done.

He had a right to demand a speedy trial but hasn’t pushed that.
He has an excellent lawyer.
The A/c outage might work for a few weeks, but not much longer.
There is a reason his lawyer has not pressed for an earlier trial date.
We don’t know that reason.

He is way better than this board wants to acknowledge. If he ever gets his career back on track he'll play in the NFL.

Hate to say it but someone who is innocent with a scholarship at LSU would be pushing for a speedy trial.

Innocent or guilty, I doubt he will return to LSU. Should just try to play at a small school for a season and if he shows the talent, NIL offers will be forthcoming...
