First time I can remember just watching the OLine in a game. They are totally confused

It’s not that they can’t block. It’s that they don’t know what they’re doing, they aren’t picking up blitzes, they aren’t holding their blocks, the RBs are going the wrong way. The entire running game is in shambles from OLine to RBs and the WRs dropped at least 5 passes. The ONLY thing good on offense is QB play right now.

This isn’t about talent. Its execution, game plan, coaching, and scheme. I hope this gets fixed, but I’m starting to be concerned. We’re 4 games in.

Some of yall are finally STARTING TO GET IT!

BK 9.9 could've fixed this mess after last season, but he sat on his "Comfortable" arse and did nothing. He didn't even replace ALL FOUR of the OL's that were drafted; just brought in Thompson and Moore, even though the Transfer Portal was loaded with some pretty good OL's.

He's made his bed, now he has to lay in it.

All the other teams seem to be able to figure it out. Guess we got the one guy that does not know how to teach

This was my take last night. They looked like it was their first day blocking for anyone.

This is the wrong scheme for the qb and OL we currently have.

I watched that stunt and they blamed Westin Davis for not picking up the guy stunting to the inside of the guard. Honestly, I’m not sure that’s his job? I’ve seen many lineman swap those blocks where the guard picks up the defensive end stunting inside of him. It’s an easier pass block for him than asking Davis to come all the way inside from his tackle position. Davis would take that defensive tackle stunting to the outside. I know it takes a lot of practice to get that right.

In most schemes, that was W.D.’s fault, even though not technically his man. During the play, Proctor lined up wide and then crashed to the outside shoulder of the guard in a TE twist. Davis’ job is to take away Proctor’s leverage by knocking him off line and into a lane that the guard can block (like a chip block a TE does) and then kick slide to pick up the slower Tackle that is wrapping around.

But that’s not his only issue Davis has. The dude never squares up and he cheats his footwork and gets himself on roller skates constantly. He just tries to get in people’s way rather than attack them with leverage. It’s really not good right now.

Absolutely Davis fault. The inside DT stunted to the RG/RT gap and the RG picked him up. But RG saw DE looping inside around behind and that becomes his man. He hands DT off to OT who is not there and hence blocked nobody. The reason he was not there was he was too slow to recognize the stunt. When OT did see it the DT already had advantage on him and was by him. They did this several times last night. They also ran it on the OG/C on the right side too.

That makes sense. He needed to make contact with the guy. I know those things have to be practiced so much it’s muscle memory for them.

In all honesty, we're 2 seasons + 4 games in with an Oline that can't effectively run block.

I agree with you. After the Florida game the rant did not.

I have been saying the same since game one. Either BK doesn't see what you see or he has no idea how to fix the problem. It will be very difficult to compete for any championship until it changes.

It’s been an issue for years now. The run blocking is awful and pass blocking has taken a step back. No championship team has had an o line this bad

Hanny and Dixon last night said the OL has had problems run blocking over the last three years regardless of talent level and said "there is one common denominator."

YUP BEEN SAYIN

but some retard named tigerkhan said we are running da tim tebow/cam newton offense

quote:

quote: I expect Nuss to continue to do the best he can in an offense that's designed for Tim Tebow and Cam Newton you are clueless we are NOT running POWER SPREAD. where are the power reads and QB powers with Nuss that those guys ran? We canot even run a damn ZONE READ with nuss effectively because he does not wanna run! because you see shotgun spread formations with some meshes you think it is all the same?
