What I saw last night was a possible solution to our uninspiring run game thus far.. VB seems like an obvious plug in to potentially move the ball on the ground with the added benefit of a competence when it comes to throwing the ball.

Not saying it will happen, but to take it to the utmost extent and say there is an argument that VB could/should start over Nuss is absurd.

ETA: Jesus, the meaning of the OP was to ask “why does it have to be one or the other with Nuss vs Van Buren” when it could be a combo ala Tebow/Leak, Perriloux/Flynn, etc.

I thought the last sentence made my stance pretty clear in saying it was absurd to talk starting MVB over Nuss but I guess not

I like Nuss as starter.

But at the very least maybe have some red zone packages for Van Buren

The best player on the team is always the backup QB

It was Southeastern

Put him in vs A&Ms front 7 before we anoint him

The thought that MVB should start is actually mind numbingly dumb. Go look at Arch’s numbers from their game yesterday. Would you rather him starting over Nuss?

The fact that some morons in this fanbase are making post like this when nuss is coming off his best game of the season is hilarous

Nuss seems a little more poised and trustworthy in critical situations. Nuss played a good game then MVB came in a played well too. It's closer than I thought it was but I think the coaches are all in on Nuss this season.

You retarded? Nuss is 30/31 350 yds, 4 tds without drops, and the 1 incomplete not calling a drop hit zavion hands as he was being def PI in end zone. He literally played a perfect game at qb. And thats in like 2.5 qtrs of play

I didn’t see anyone say that vb should start sans the fact that Nuss was hurt and neeed rest.

Let's return the favor this year vs Aggies.

Essentially that's what A&M did last year vs the Tigers. They tooled around with Conner Weigman, their starter, for 2 1/2 quarters, and went nowhere, but down. Enter Marcel Reed, and the Aggies turned the game around bigly, finishing it out on a 31-6 run. Visualize LSU inserting MVB into the mix vs the Aggies this season.

Have you looked at his career rushing stats by chance? Have a look at what he did rushing at Mississippi State. His highest rushing game was 15 yards and he totaled -12 on the season. . Does that scream dual threat to you?

When your QB is a run threat the offense will be more dynamic and harder to defend.

MVB has played a little football before.

He threw for 306 and 3 TD in Athens last year.

Nuss is the starter. VB needs to get reps in where he can and get ready for next year. Excited to see what he brings. Tell Jayden to give him a call
