This confirms that this wasn't about what he said. They were looking for an escape route. I think Nextstar and the FCC colluded with the network on this one.

Maybe you're right, but why does this confirm that? I don't personally believe the network was actually offended by what he said, but I think this was giving them backlash they finally felt like they had to respond to in a meaningful way, to save face. if they just wanted him out, why did they need an excuse?
