Headed there tonight with a group. Arguably the best scene in the metro area as far as women go.

For those unaware, it’s a giant block party that covers 3 blocks up in Roswell GA. Most of the affluent young ATL folks have migrated to going out there as opposed to the now crime infested areas of Buckhead and, sadly, the Battery.

Bring sunglasses. It's kinda bright.

Downtown Roswell has a great scene all the time, IMO. I do think it's a bit older, although there is something for everyone.

Not that it needs more people, but I'm always surprised downtown Roswell isn't consistently praised in in town circles. Honestly, it's probably because it's an authentic, mostly-chain free street scene vibe that happens to be in a suburb and the Eater and Reddit crowds are bitter about it.

There's a reason for that... let's just say, diversity is not a staple of the Canton Street clientele or establishments.

I think it's also that they don't really have a good knock on it. It's historic, it's authentic, mostly chain-free, etc.

It's not a reconstructed fake urban area. And it comes without many of the issues that plague their super-authentic gentrified street scenes.

People quit going to Buckhead 15 years ago.

I've been to a few of the bars/restaurants on Canton Street (I think that's it) in Roswell its nice.

I worked in Roswell from 2010 to 2016. This event started in 2019. Looks fun.

One of my friends and a fellow TD'er lives in downtown Roswell, but when I go there it's to party at his lake house there. Haven't been to downtown, but just driving through it to get to his house, it seems very nice. Visually, very much as what has been described above. He bought his house right before the real estate market went retarded. It's probably pushing a million dollars right now.

Had a lot of fun in Roswell one night back in 2020.

They didn’t care about the covid foolishness

Never heard of this, my first thought was something to do with UFOs!

Looks like a good time.

You’ll have a great time.

Downtown Woodstock on a concert at the amphitheater night is also a suburban must do.

I’ll do “eat at a subpar restaurant in East Cobb” instead. Thinking about that parking situation got me stressed.

Yes! Roswell does it right. Canton St has so much going on! I stop and eat at Roux on Canton whenever I’m in the area. I do suggest you take an uber over. Finding a parking spot sucks over there when it’s packed

Look, Roswell/Alpharetta/Marietta/John’s Creek are all fine places to raise a family, send your kids to decent public schools, and get a little bang for your buck.

But trying to pass off OTP as “cool,” particularly Roswell, is hilarious.

No shame in not wanting to pay $1.5M+ for a house in Buckhead/Highlands/Vinings and then have to strike a check at 35k per kiddo at Westminster/Lovett/Pace, but the pontificating of “crime” and how ITP is “no longer desirable” is a status cope I haven’t seen in quite some time.

On-topic: Alive is a nice outing.

Downtown Roswell is cool, full stop.

I don’t think Roswell has very many appealing neighborhoods though.

This seems a little low.

Agreed.

ITP is exploding. And there are a lot of great neighborhoods ITP. My sister has lived in W.Midtown for close to a decade and absolutely loves it.
