NBC framing the Kimmel cancellation as the FCC director's doing.

IDK, seems like sponsors and many other folks also had a problem with his shite.

Based on what? Did they remove their ad space?

ABC had to settle with Trump back in December for like $17 million for running their mouth. I doubt they felt like writing more big checks to cover Kimmels big mouth and the hot water he was about to get them in.

Nexstar had taken him off the air anyway and they own a shite load of affiliates.

ABC is probably happy about getting out of Kimmel's contract and this was a good reason to fire him for cause.

And it seems like a bullshite way for them to tie the cancellation to the Trump administration.

I have a feeling he's not going to be gone long. I could see him offering some sort of BS apology and then them allowing him back.

His show audiences were dumpster material so getting rid of him was not a hard task

The same Nexstar that is currently waiting on approval from the FCC and FTC on a six billion dollar acquisition?

If Kimmel was worth the hassle to ABC they would have stood behind him and taken the fight to the courts. Kimmel isn't worth the hit.

My thought is that they are losing too much on late night and they aren’t getting enough publicity for their other properties from it to keep eating the cost.

Kimmel stepping in it was a convenient reason to kill the show because they may be able to fire him for cause and shut down production.

LOL Kimmel's show has been tanking. I'm quite certain the executives were relieved when this opportunity presented itself and and gave them an easy out.

I guarantee there was a huge collective sigh of relief.

Everyone knew they would. You didn't expect them to be reasonable, did you?

The left will always blame Trump. It is expected.

They have a big problem though in that fewer and fewer people are listening to their BS.

Yes. They said they would not air his show. That's as harsh a statement as can be made.
