I am comfortable admitting that I did not know that was Robert Redford until today. Now that it has been pointed out, I can certainly see it.

A lot of his movies pre-date me but the movie Sneakers was legit.

Nearly all his work is excellent. I don't care for the sappy love roles, but he was a good, even great, actor in them. But All the President's Men, Three Days of the Condor, Butch Cassidy, etc. were all great. He also gave Scarlett Johansson her big break and a gal gave me handy back in the day, sitting in the back of theater when I took her to see the horse whisperer, so thank you, sir.
I admire his work in support of independent film, too. He could have cashed in on his own success and told the little guys to go kick rocks, but he didn't.
He was a bit too far in the Sierra Club orbit on policy issues, but he was an American and has that right. Regardless, I can separate admiration for his film talent from his social/political positions.
