Other than Heroes, there is not greater drop off from S1 to S2.
Nothing against Hemsworth, he’s just walking into a show where the showrunners hate the Source Material.

Having never read the books or played the game, season one was amazing and season two was very good. Season three was where it dramatically fell off.

At least Heroes had the Writers Strike as the reason for the drop off.
The Witcher just brought in writers that didn't actually read the novels or for some reason hated them.
To this day I will never understand a person taking a job on a show where they actively hate the source material.
Like, I was never a fan of Harry Potter, but I would never take a job writing on the show just to turn around and try and change everything...
Harry's now a Slytherin and secretly wants to help Voldemort because he thinks his parents were "super lame". Why? Because frick the original version, that's why!
I think, instead, I'd either:
A. If I need the job, try and give the fans as close to the original material as possible that still works in the new medium regardless of my personal opinion of the source material.
OR
B. Not take the job (if I don't need it to, you know, eat, pay bills, not die, etc.)

That's a rough look. I'll watch as it maybe will look better, but that action sequence left a lot to be desired. Superman would never.....
