The only reason I bought it was because the rear bagger from my previous Deere tank fit on. This thing is the biggest POS piece of machinery I have ever come across. By far the worst design ever for working on yourself. Giant piece of plastic shite. Has less than 100 hrs and I spent $600 on it already. Now the throttle is gone, mower wants to move in neutral (WTF?) and pulling off the whole back of the mower to repair is another $600.

Gonna get a zero that has a great bagging system. What do you boys recommend?

My go-to answer is no longer valid since Donald started his crusade.

You're on your own, baw.

Pablo or Jose has usually worked for me.

Super reliable, although occasionally they will show up a day late. No more fighting, repairing, or buying lawnmowers.

You bought a Home Depot version Deere. You have to go to a dealer to get the better stuff. My x300 is 13 years old and fine.

I've had an LA110 for 20 years and have beaten the crap out of it and it's still running.

Yeah, I fricked up for sure. The first was a gift and ran like a mofo for about 11 years no problems. I went cheap and wanted to use the existing catcher and it has cost me.

when i'm on a deck chair with a cold beverage and it's 90-ish, i feel good

she stole work from hard working kids, who would actually trim, weed, and aerate it. Sometimes i do have to yell out to tell her she missed something.

I’ll push mow before I hand it over to Julio

It’s my decompression and time to myself

I can see my wife yelling from the porch, waving that arm out of my periphery and I get a pass when I ignore her too

Not giving that up

I have heard this for the past 30+ years. The JD, Hustler, Cub Cadet, etc., etc., machines that are sold at the big box stores are not the same quality build as the ones you buy at the dealer are certified distributor.

Supposedly that is how HD, Lowes, Tractor Supply etc. can sell them cheaper, it's because they are built cheaper.

If she can push a stroller, she can push a mower.

I have a Hustler Raptor 52 inch cut with a 24 HP Kawasaki. Thing is a tank 5 years old and haven't had a single issue. Just regular oil changes, sharpening blades etc.

It is probably similar but with a green markup to my craftsman t-110 Lowe’s special.

Here is what has gone wrong with it:
Drive tensioner spring broke (luckily I still had my old mower swapped the spring)
Frame cover for engine is about as flimsy as aluminum foil
One of the deck pulleys rusted off the deck
Now one of spindles are out of alignment causing one side to have a lower cut than the other
(Last two issues could be resolved with a new deck at the cost of a 1/3 to half the price of a new mower)

Purchased in 2022

I bought a Gravely ZTX 42 a few months ago. Happy with it so far. Much better than my old Craftsman rear engine rider.

From a former mower mechanic...
Every single one of these issues was caused by poor habits and lack of proper maintenance. Hope this helps!
