I know this board widely supported the Covid vaccine back under the Biden regime which is why I bring the question here.

We know the Amish community does not vaccinate, why didn’t they get wiped out by Covid?

Except for the fact they do it’s just at lower levels compared to the general public.

quote:

Hurst and McConnell state that immunization can be especially low among conservative groups, with only 6% of Swartzentruber Amish participating, compared to 63% of the overall Amish population and 85% of the non-Amish population, according to a 1984 study (Paradox, Hurst/McConnell).

Why didn’t it wipe out the American population? Are you saying the vaccines helped?

They vaccinated just not in as large of numbers as other populations. And it’s hard to track because they utilize rural clinics and the like for vaccinations.

That said, they’re also very good at isolating when they need to.

Amish and Mennonites had a 25% higher rate of excess deaths during 2020

New research from West Virginia University sociologists suggests this face-to-face interaction, coupled with a distrust in preventative medicine, led to “excess deaths” among the Amish population in 2020.

The death rate for that year soared above the baseline average from 2015 to 2019, with the largest spike – 125% - occurring in November.

Why would it? China lab made virus was a bigger issue for people in poor health in the first place. Don’t think Amish people are fat and lazy. Don’t think they live off of canes and Pepsi
