Why the obsession with thinner iPhones?

This is an obsession Apple has always had and they will not be happy until they get the iPhone or the iPad as thin as a sheet of paper.

And what always happens of course is as soon as we buy them we slap on a case to protect them so bye bye thinnest. Big fricking deal.

Differentiating yourselves from the competiton.

Like how Samsung was obsessed with sticking as many cameras on their Galaxy phones for a period of time.

Would you prefer a sphere-shaped cell phone?

Or you could handle your device like an adult and not need to slap a big case on it

So I'm a little baby man because I want to protect my multi-thousand-dollar phone that I use 300 times a day from random accidents.

Got it. Thanks for letting me know!

All the new phones are slick and smooth.

It is almost as if they design them to be easy to drop.

I never use cases but I know I’m taking a pretty decent-sized risk. The people who use cases (most people) aren’t wrong here.

If the phone was thick the cases would make them even thicker. What’s your point here?

And here I am with my basic flip phone that measures approximately 2 1/2 inches wide by 4 inches long by 1/2 inch deep. I don't worry about protecting it since if I drop it and it breaks I'm out less than $30 and can easily replace it for about the same price.

Been having this same phone for about 3 yrs. and it does what I want it to without fail---------------make and receive phone calls. No pics, videos, texting, searching the net, just phone calls.

I think I read that the next iPhone release will be thicker than the last.

Because they need a product to sell because they stopped innovating.

I didn’t use a case for a very long time but the newer iPhones are so slick that I had to get one.

Low profile cases

Has anyone tried these minimalist cases like in the link?

It’s more that, until we solve either the heat problem, the battery problem, or both, there’s really nowhere to go at this point.

What is thinner? A thick phone with a case or a thin phone with a case?

The absolute last resort method of communication is a voice call. I hate that shite. And kill voicemail off already.
