When you’re the only game in town, and when you make it so hard for people to get your shite serviced elsewhere, you can charge whatever you want.

Go to the nearest European mechanic shop. I've never been to a bad one yet. Lots of high end Lamborghini, Ferrari, etc so you know they're taking care of your car.

More than that for the one that requires the cabin filter change.
Not just Mercedes. They have made it harder to do any work yourself on any car. My Denali battery died on a Sunday and I needed to replace it myself,. In a truck like that it used to be two screws and the loosen the posts with plenty of room to lift it, Now they put it where it us under the dash and after removing several screws and apparatus of multiple sizes you have to corkscrew the thing in and out.,

Anyone paying attention knows that owning car dealerships is one of the surest paths to billionaire status. How do dealerships make their money? It ain’t by selling cars, at least not directly. It the service of said cars. No different if you own a BMW or some other upscale brand.
