Air travel status vs spouse

I have high level United status as well as TSA precheck due to work travel.
When traveling on a trip with the wife, do you leave her for upgrades? I don’t, but am reminded how miserable flying is as a normal passenger. Just got through the gen pop security line having to deal with everyone who has no idea what the rules are (even tho they’ve been in place for 24 years now). Then had to get dressed again and repack all my stuff back.
Also turned down a first class upgrade. Just feel like an arse leaving the wife to fend for herself.
What do you do in these instances, OT? Avoid the doghouse or tell her you’ll see her when you land?

Better or worse, something, something...

We upgrade together or I let her have it.

You’re not used to feeling like an arse? Because you are in fact an arse. Nothing to do with travel status or anything but an arse is indeed an arse.

Can't you just let the wife use the upgrade, you know, like a gentleman?

Either she would get the upgrade or we would stick together.
Although if I tried to give her the upgrade she would decline. We go together or we don't go.
Sitting in coach next to your best friend is better than sitting in first next to a stranger.

I have a ton of delta sky lounge passes so that’s never an issue
We both have clear + pre check but if she didn’t I sure as hell wouldn’t stand in the regular line with all the plebes.
I’d let her have the first class upgrade though

Every time I get the first class upgrade I give it to my wife. Wtf is your problem

We put our dog in the first class seat. She whines a lot and we dont like being annoyed.

The TSA precheck is relatively cheap so you should get her registered on that today for any future trips. As far as the upgrade I thought if you bought the 2 tickets together she was eligible on the upgrade with you?

How about spend the $75 for 5 YEARS and just get her TSA Precheck.
Usually if you make the reservations and buy the tickets, your entire party boards with you if you have elite status.

It’s better for everyone if I use my TSA and/or Clear to be free of the normies, but I’d never upgrade my seat or not be seated with her. That would be pretty shitty.

I bought my 3 son's Precheck for this very reason. My wife and I have TWIC.
Quit being a tightass.

You haven’t been married long?

I used to sit with her instead of upgrading, now fly private so not not an issue.

Also most major credit cards will refund the cost of PreCheck
