I hope the league hammers them. This is egregious.

I’m surprised this doesn’t happen more often. Billionaire owner sets up fake businesses to pay stars for bullshite.

Or what’s to stop a billionaire from just giving a star cash under the table?

The Lakers did this with AD.

I would guess the Clips get hit with a huge fine and lose a first-round pick.

Probably happens a lot more than we think. The Clippers were just dumb enough to get caught.

Has happened for a very long time. This is what they mean and what you should be thinking about when they say “large market” and “small market”.

Losing multiple first round draft picks if caught, like the T'Wolves.

I'm sure the Billionaire owner is shaking in his boots.

Typical response from a billionaire bootlicker troll.

If you actually listened to the podcast, you will learn that Ballmer defrauded investors as part of this scheme and will be investigated by the SEC/FBI.

I recommend everyone to listen to this podcast. It is highly entertaining and thoroughly researched.

I’ve often thought of this and the only answer I can think of is it is a business and if they all do this, it circumvents the cap and will potentially make the business not profitable.

This.
Balmer had no chance to keep that a secret forever.

Could you imagine the responses from Ghost and/or Geauxldilocks if anything like this were to be said about Gayle?

The Patriots 100% did this with Tom for a decade. It happens more frequently than you might think.

I've always assumed that teams/owners get these same types of deals when they dump their Luka Doncic's to the Lakers/Dodgers/Yankees of the world

I’d give her credit for trying to get creative. It beats the hell out of her poverty franchise approach that will never pay the luxury tax to win.

I always thought the Nets did this with Kirilenko.

There was a lot of suspicion on that contract but him playing like shite on the Nets made people forget about it.

Just a ploy to drive Kawhi to Lakers or Warriors

Exactly, Kawhi likely wants to be there and those type franchises deserve marquee players.

Careful what you wish for. Stephen A. Smith even hinted it on his radio show
