I really like Hilton and feel he’s going to have a big season. Holding him out to not get injured and limiting his reps really cost him in this game.

Couple of big things, specifically in the first half….
-Alignment issues (Penalty)
-Blocking issues (x2) looked like effort both on play setup as well ongoing
-Poor route running & Ball security (fumble)

I’m not sure Hilton is ready to play just yet. I really hope he can put it together.

Am I being too critical?

Nope. He’s not a legit #1 WR no matter how hard the rant wants him to be.

He’s a situational player. Deep ball only guy

This pretty much sums it up imo. He is a track guy who plays football. While some other really fast guys are football players that also runs track.

Big difference

The result of this game will not hinge on a safety transfer from Houston

Clemson is going to light up this secondary because it’s a weak link with or without AJ

Let other guys get his reps and let him ride the pine.

He’s too old to be this sloppy and has terrible body language

He has been here like 8 years, how is he not ready to play yet lol

He was wide open on the Zavion Thomas pass play down field(i believe the play was intended for him), just a tough throw for Thomas 40 yards away.

His only other catch was had a -3 ADOT

Clemson ran two deep safeties last night all night. Notice we threw zero deep shots down the field and only took short and intermediate stuff. Nic Anderson - 0 targets. Only long shot we took was the hole shot to the pylon to BBrown. We had a couple sideline throws and completed none.

BBrown lined up wrong and cost us a 15 yd run by Durham. Lined up on the LOS and went in motion while another WR was already on the LOS. Nobody bitching about that and I am not either. My point is we choose to select the facts to shape our narritive.

Hilton - poor route and fumble. Baur Sharpe fumbled too...

We can to this all day.

Off of this game, yes. But he needs to show some consistency. He had two shite games last yr and looked like he had never played and followed that up with two games that looked like All Conf player.

We tried to force it to Trey'Dez a good bit early and use screens, then we started to settle for more underneath stuff and rely on YAC. We'll eventually see them try to take the top off with Hilton. He was targeted a whopping one time, caught a dumb pass when we should've been kicking a FG, and fumbled meaninglessly. He was not part of the game plan. We have diverse skill sets on the passing game. Not all games will look the same.

I think with the concerns about our o line holding up against their d line, his skillset wasn’t a great fit with the gameplan to get the ball out quickly

I didn’t see it, he may have, but I don’t know.
Brown did get chewed out by BK & he said some words back and had a player or asst coach pull him away. Looked like just heat of the moment stuff

The difference is brown was pleading his case and speaking to coach about the situation. The problem with Hilton is he rolls his eyes and turns his back to the coach like he did last night. It’s disrespect vs communicating.
