Joe Sloan...Last night changed my opinion of him in a big way.

Was a little indifferent/skeptical about him as an OC but the creativity and ability to keep the Clemson defense off balance were fully on display.
Feels like the amount of wrinkles in this offense will make it really tough for defenses to game plan against. We got creative with quick screens and formations, utilized the speed of our WR’s, let Nuss pull a few, etc. It didn’t feel like we were limited in any way and you could tell Clemson was on their heels quite a bit. Score didn’t show how dominate this was and I think the offense is going to do big numbers this year.

Let’s not suck his dick too quick.
As soon as we had the lead we applied the same shite we did in the past, playing not to lose.
Absolutely hated the calls on the last couple drives, essentially conceding giving them the ball back.
But it worked out, so let’s keep getting better.

Committed to the run, and creative play calling. We didn’t see that last year.

Night and day difference between halves. Maybe Sloan went conservative in the first half to determine how well the new line could perform?
I HATED the first half calls. LOVED second half calls...particularly the same play three times in a row to take advantage of personnel mismatch.

Yeah the play calling the last 2 drives drove me insane. But I loved the 3 bubble screens in a row

Come up with another analogy. Good grief

This is my only disagreement. Maybe Clemson was dropping two deep to stop this though.

Good enough to win, which is huge but still more conservative than I would like to see. Congrats coaches. Sloan was good, Baker was great and BK dropped the ball by not taking the points before half!

It was a better 2nd half in play calling. Getting a rhythm and creating mis direction and mismatches that wssnt happening in 1st half.
I was really mad about the last 2 drives for putting the pressure on our D instead of trying seal the deal. I understand burning clock and sticking ground plays but it was way too conservative.
But i think that is more on Kelly for that decision

My only complaint was how we finished the game. I would have preferred to see more aggressive play calling.
We had them on the ropes, needed a kill shot.

We were just behind the chains too much. Ball didn’t bounce our way all night

Don’t necessarily think we conceded, one drive took about 5 mins off the clock. Did we not see that defense? You lean on that unit when they are playing like that. We haven’t won that type of game in the BK era ever.
Nuss was brilliant imo, protected the ball and played within the team. The WRs gotta get separation, they were getting blanketed at times.

I meant more of just getting them the ball quickly and using zavion in the run game. We have room to improve for sure but it just feels like the playbook is bigger this year with much more opportunities to find ways to exploit defenses

The first half was disappointing and had me thinking it would be another brutal year of terrible play calling.
But they made adjustments and the second half was inspired. Multiple times getting Clemson defense moving one way only to move the ball the opposite.
That little decoy/delayed screen where the slot receiver dummy’s a block then runs a drag was great.
Beat them for big yards twice and the third time it would have been a TD, but they had a late whistle for a false start.

Did you like that 3rd and 9 hand off, coming of out of a timeout on the first drive? I thought that was extremely creative 2 yard pickup.

clock mgt, bubble screens and play selection
tht les was back on the sidelines again
please dont make us wait till 1min left to celebrate when we dominate again

Disagree on first half. I thought play calling was good most of the game. We occasionally played it safe in both halves. But you could tell this was a statement of committing to the run. I think he challenged the Oline to make running lanes and they did. I hope some stud high school Oline guys were watching. This is how a good Oline wants a game to be called.

Defense bailed him out, especially after the early turnover where they only got the field goal
We’re lucky it wasn’t 17 zip or Moore Clemson by halftime.
So my opinion after the game is, he’s possibly capable, but planning the conservative slow start is gonna kill us like it had in the last five openers.

The delayed screen pass to Aaron Anderson in the middle is a money play. I’m pretty sure we had a TD using that play but a timeout was called.
