Seems like about 10-15 years ago there were only a handful of mainstream options

Now you're seeing a lot of the online influencers come up with their own brands. I think some people would rther support those people than the main "traditional" brands like Tony's. Have you tried any and do you prefer them over Tony's or Slap Ya Mama?

I like adding my own seasoning/spices, but this is really good, IMO…

That's what I normally use but I'm about ready for a new can and was wondering if some of the other smaller newer brands were worth checking out

I've been using Cooking with Hal, the Cajun lady. The Zydeco and Cajun Waltz is good and low sodium.

I never use any of those “Cajun/Creole” spice blends as they are mostly salt and pepper anyway. However if you use them, got blaze’s blends are awesome. His chili blend especially which reminds me I need to order some more. That shite is incredible

I always loved Ball's Cajun Seasoning from the Lake Charles area. Always seemed to be a smoother blend of the salt with the other spices. See it on Amazon sometimes, but would love to pick it up at a store. Their distribution seems inconsistent.

If anybody wants to try their hand at going commercial with their own spice blend, just check out Ingredients Corporation of America - LINK . A number of the house brands of Creole/Cajun seasoning you see at restaurants are things they do for clients.

Might try concocting some different blends for other cuisines

Apparently, spice blending is a big business. One of the BBQ YouTubers mentioned going to Birmingham to create/package his blends; I'm guessing it's these people: LINK

I've been using Harissa (staple from North Africa cuisine): Salt free, chilies, smoked paprika, cumin, caraway, fennel, garlic, coriander, black pepper, cinnamon, mint, ginger, and parsley.

With the plethora of seasonings I have in the cabinet. I have been just making my own. I try different recipes either from cookbooks or just online and modify as I go. Recently I’ve been using AI and helping me develop various different recipes not just Cajun or creole.
