I recently tried Noel reposado tequila and it was very good and my mules, but I was wanting to know if there is any good recommendations for another tequila that's a little bit cheaper than $50 a bottle

For mixing Herradura (or however you spell it) is good.

Espolon reposado is good for this purpose.

Don Julio Reposado is my recommendation…

Most of these suggestions are trash….
Look into the additive free stuff.
El Tesoro
Cimmaron
Tapatio
Don Fulano
Tequila Ocho
Partida
G4
Fortaleza (kinda hard to find though)

Agree, El Tesoro is the answer for value and easy to find.

What additives do they add to tequila?
I haven’t had tequila in 40 years and then it was Cuervo Gold shots with a splash of Tabasco in it.
That first shot was like a warm quilt wrapped around your shoulders making you feel warm and secure.
That tenth shot turned the warm quilt into a cape that made me think I could fly off rooftops.
Yeah glad it’s been 40 years.
I did miss the boutique tequila revolution though.

It’s Cimarron but that’s our “daily drinker” and it’s great.

Mostly sweeteners and flavorings like vanilla. Even the expensive ones like clase Azul are loaded with them.

Oh. Really? I knew all the vodka and bourbons were doing that.
That is just marketing to a different generation I guess. I’ve never had a flavored anything unless it was flavored in the glass.
But my father’s generation drank boilermakers dropping a shot of whiskey into a pint of draft beer. I’ve never had one of those either.

I’m grateful that my ‘I’m swearing this off and never taking another sip of it again’ youthful bad drinking experience was with Crown Royal.

All great recs. I would add El tequileno as a great budget additive free. Its at my local rouses for around $25

This is the best tequila for cocktails. While the others you list are great, they are at a higher price point and more appropriate for sippers. Cimm is the ultimate balance of great flavor, additive free and reasonable price point.
