Houston got the official clarification that Haulcy was ejected for fighting in after the game in 2024… Clemson didnt just dream up that info, someone passed it along and purposefully waited this long…

Houston’s sports information director confirmed the ejection was for fighting (this was before BK even had his press conference).

Guarantee you Houston is still salty about AJ transferring and decided stick it to him/LSU

I don’t get “ Clemson snitched.”

The ruling was made 8 months ago. The fact that Clemson knew the LsU player was ineligible to play the first half, but LSU didn’t (if that’s true), should be the most concerning part of all of this.

A Clemson “reporter” “broke” the story. How did he suddenly find that out a couple of days before the game. Someone fed him that info and guess who knew the official ejection ruling info in 2024… Houston

This is life in the big city. I can't imagine being a pussy big enough to feel aggrieved by big time CFB programs using cutthroat tactics.

Why?

Haulcy himself wasn't notified, which should be illegal.

It's clear that UH was holding this just to frick with Haulcy, and they should be sued.

Why are you ignoring tons of evidence?

Houston coaching staff knew after they were informed via letter from the Big 12. They did not tell Haulcey.

It's more likely than not that Houston (mad about their best player leaving them high and dry) told Clemson, and Clemson (confirmed) reported it to the NCAA.

It is not, in the slightest bit, "concerning" that LSU was unaware of the suspension.

Better to sit him than play him and be forced to forfeit the game.

This is better than playing an ineligible player and having it discovered after the fact.

Is it? They couldn't penalize anyone of no one knew anything...

Since LSU is apparently getting screwed two days before the season opener without knowing, it is actually concerning that the NCAA or some party doesn't have to notify schools about players who will be suspended in any fashion for the season opener well in advance of the season.

This is exactly why their arbitrary regulatory enforcement should be tested in court.

It’s possible. But I also think it’s possible that somebody from Clemson started doing a deep dive when NC State made it known that they would have two players suspended stemming from those bowl game ejections (this was made known earlier this week). Cooley was also ejected, which drew Clemson’s attention. So they started digging and found out about the Haulcy ejection too. They reported both of them.

That's not how that works. If they forfeit after Clemson loses then it erased LSUs win and Clemson keeps the loss.

If losing one player for one half makes that much difference we’re in trouble !

I disagree. If I'm a coach or staff and I'm preparing to play a big game and my opponent knows something about a player on my team that I don't know, that's a concern. If they know that, what else do they know about my team that I don't know?

Big 12 sent their letter in early December 2024.

This is speculation. it's not fact. Houston probably was at least disappointed.

I guarantee you that there is someone in LSU's compliance department who is sweating bullets right now because we didn't do our full due diligence.

Houston could have told Haulcy - he was there 5+ months after the decision.
Houston could have told LSU.
NCAA Clearninghouse could have flagged it when approving the transfer.
Compliance could have requested ALL Big 12 docs associated with the player.

There are are so many points where the information could have been collected. that we don't know until now is mind boggling.

The good news is that it's only 1 player for 1 half. So, it doesn't mean we can't win the game, but IMO LSU looks bad in this situation and as an alumni and supporter, that's a concern.
