I'm 59 and have been divorced 6 years. The first 2 years were rough emotionally, but things have progressed to the point I honestly like my life better single. I don't even have an interest in dating. I don't see the point when I'm never gonna get married again. I'm financially stable and looking at retiring soon. My life is peaceful and completely drama free. There is so much freedom in being able to go where I want, when I want, and do what I want without having to consider someone else. There are rare times when I think, "It would be nice to have someone to share this moment with." but they are few and far between. When I think of the risk involved of losing all this for a bit of companionship in those rare moments of loneliness, the sane voice in me quickly reminds me of just how blessed I really am, how many lunatic women are out there, and how crazy it would be to even consider risking it. Any of you older guys feel this way?

I hope not, because that means something went wrong with mine.

If something happens to my husband, I will not remarry

I probably won’t even date. I don’t want guys I really don’t know around my kids.

Maybe I’ll share my jello with someone when I get to the nursing home, but probably not.

If something happens to my marriage- either death or divorce- I will never co-habitate with a female again in my life.

45, single, aint doing it again. No way, no how. If I meet a lady and she just wants to hang out and such, fine. No way am I putting my name on any paperwork that can be used against me. No pu$$y in this world is worth that aggravation.

If something happened to my husband, I’d want a travel companion but not remarriage.

I’ve been with my wife for 23 years and have been married for 15 of those. Selfishly, I hope this is something she has to worry about and not me, because I can’t imagine my life without that massive pain in the arse in it. I love her too much.

I'm not sure. I'm feeling a bit empty.

Dad had 3 wives over his life... being a poon hound and a hopeless romantic at the same time did not bode well for his bank account

At least he kept his house through three women/wives

I have 3 half brothers... 2 I have yet to meet

Papa was a rolling stone
Wherever he laid his hat was his home
And when he died, all he left us was alone

And Momma, some bad talk goin' round town sayin' that
Papa had three outside children
And another wife

Truth is truth

Don’t know about making it official or not, but the idea of growing old alone scares me. I’m too old to bear anymore kids, mine are almost grown now. Even if I have to deal with divorce (hopefully never will) I would be financially independent. The marriage certificate would be a liability to me with no real upside.

But from a practical standpoint I am a pretty serious introvert. If left to my own devices I’d regress into my home and would never be seen again u less I find a partner to shake off the dust and make me go out into the world.

TLDR: Unless the guy comes from the same financial background, I don’t know why I would sign any papers

I got divorced in ‘95, have not remarried.

Was engaged once, but didn’t make it to the altar.

Dated a bunch of girls in the last 30 years, some of them great gals, but just wasn’t all in about getting married to any of them.

God has put 3 awesome women in my life, and I'm grateful to Him.

I just dont think I could do it again.
