Sammy's 60. He's finally aged into his hairline.

His hairline was so far back because he out ran it.

Happy 60th to the guy who looked like he was 60 when he caught that TD pass.

Thanks for the memories, Sammy.

Funny the comment by Condon about him being the fastest white man to play at LSU
Me and my buddy were blown away when we saw a shot of him on TV and he was white.
That dude could fly

Not to hijack, but, Wow, the N.O. Catholic League players on those 1980's teams -- Martin (DLS), Roland Barbay (H.C.), John Hazard (Jes), Nicky Hazard (Jes), Tommy Clapp (BM), Ron Sancho (Shaw).

Sammy was amazing but he wasn’t the fastest “white” player on his team. The fastest player on the team was a white receiver that played at Wossman (wherever that’s at).

I thoroughly enjoyed watching him run the ball. Great Tiger.

Not part of the N.O. Catholic League, but I'll still mention him, as one of my favorite Tigers: Steve Rehage, from Alfred Bonnabel High in Kenner (formerly East Jefferson HS).

I don’t remember his name. Far too many years ago and I only met him once. Sammy was married with a daughter while at LSU. A lot of people probably didn’t know that.
