You only disapprove of Inca human sacrifice because your education was too white

I don’t feel like reading it, so I’ll ignorantly say that I doubt the children did this voluntarily.

From the OP

quote:

An 11-year “veteran” history teacher “with a deep love of learning” recently posted a video in which she claims human sacrifices performed by the ancient Inca civilization were “voluntary” and “kind.” Emily Pool, who according to her Linkedin page is “talented in successfully differentiating learning styles in for [sic] socially, economically, and racially diverse classrooms,” says in her vid the Inca were “kind” about dispatching their victims via sacrifice … because they drugged them first.

She's actually being quite racist here because she's implying that only darker skinned people perpetrated human sacrifice and refraining from such behavior is whiteness.

When reality destroys world views, cognitive dissonance often shows up.

They were most peaceful human sacrifices.

That is an anti-White ‘attention whore’; she’ll say whatever is required to get attention and praise from her ideological peers. Albeit Paganism is on the rise.

I don’t think she realizes that the kind of societal mindset that would support such practices would have zero compunction not to snuff her life out like a pesky mosquito.

Moths to the flame.

One, she would have no way of knowing they were drugged.

Two, if she was such a learner as she claims, she would know the idea of many different learning styles is a myth.

'mostly peaceful'

Got it.

*This rings suspiciously like her own head canon. She can't process such overwhelming visceral brutality, so she invents a scenario where available drugs (coca) plants are used for voluntarily purposes, and then even adds the claim that elites, not lower class, took part in such rituals.

How very noble of them!

We used to lock up these people in the looney bin.

Now they’re indoctrinating our children.

Human sacrifice was not unique to Native Americans. It was a worldwide thing in ancient history. Even white people did it in Europe… BUT by the time of European-Native American contact, the practice had been retired for centuries. So it would not have been hypocritical for European explorers of that time to be repulsed by the practice.

Aside from that, there’s no way that human sacrifice can be justified, regardless of how “painless” you try to make it. So this person’s argument is both weird and wrong on a basic level.

Might have been the Incas but some ancient civilization down there had a primitive version of basketball. The losing team was executed.
