I see case after case of it. When did this happen? It seems like there has been a serious shift just in the last 10 years or so of able bodied men not working hard, or trying to advance their prospects and just generally not wanting to be men. I even know a guy who gets $500 temporary alimony from a woman that I suspect she agreed to just to get rid of him. I don’t know that I could even take that money and not feel like a shite heel.

It is literally in a man’s DNA to provide. It takes work to overcome your programming which makes it even worse

4 grown men rent a house down the street from me and pay someone to mow their grass.

Back in my single days, I dated a girl in her 20s. I was 40. Sex was great. Her biggest complaint about men her age was that they all just watch porn, jerk off, and play video games. It’s an epidemic.

I know a guy who tragically passed away at 47. Left his wife with 4 kids and ZERO life insurance and no 401K nest egg or investment portfolio. Also left her a mortgage. Super nice guy, great dad, and loving husband. Dude just did not plan for tomorrow at all.

That’s just a guy that likely didn’t know any better or didn’t know how get those things together. He sounds like a hard working guy that simply didn’t have that knowledge. He probably would’ve worked 100hrs a week to provide for his family though

I see you’ve met my first husband.

He finally got a job 6 months ago and convinced his girlfriend of 10 years he was ready to get married and be a man. She honestly deserves him though.

Probably typical old man shite and it’s always been like this but I legitimately feel like younger people in the workplace are lazy as frick nowadays.

Nope

He might as well have been cheating on the wife and abusing the kids because that’s similar to what is happening to them now.

Selfish and/or dumb.

This OP is a PSA for anyone out there who is presently exposing their kids and spouse to a similar scenario. Insurance is too cheap. Do it now.

You haven't noticed your son is suspiciously tan, Mr. Gribble?

you sure you aren't working hard to support someone Else's kid?

My experience has been the total opposite.

The older people in the offices I worked in wasted so much god damn time getting coffee, chit chatting, taking 2 hour lunches, etc... Then talk about all of the hours that they put in at the office.

I think the older generation(s) incorrectly correlate time spent at work with "working hard".
