Sad story

LINK

quote:

Adam Turck, 35, a fixture of Richmond, Virginia's theater and fitness communities, was gunned down outside an apartment building in the city's historic Church Hill neighborhood after witnessing a fight between a woman and her boyfriend.  Turck stepped in and tried to calm the situation down but was shot in the process.  The shooter, a 19-year-old man, then turned the gun on himself.

Even cops hate getting involved in domestic situations. If cops are reluctant to do it, I damn sure aint.

It’s always really tough for me to think through “I know I should not get involved in something but what could happen if i don’t. Will I regret that forever.”

If you are shot and killed you wont have very long to regret it.

Domestic disputes can turn on a dime. Even police officers hate handling them because they are so volatile.

I’m pretty sure that’s relatively common for a lot of the people in the theater community to have daytime jobs. Can easily see him being a fitness trainer as his day job who does theater for fun

Patrick Swayze did it well. High end dancers have to be in shape.

Breaking up fights is super dangerous these days. I ignore that they’re happening and just create distance between me and them.

Never interfere in other people's shite. I had to drag a buddy of mine away from a similar situation. You don't know these people, if they are crazy, if they are armed, etc.

An elderly man ( in his 40's then) I used to work with tried to break up a fight between a woman and a man outside a bar in Odessa, Texas one night back in the 80's. They both turned on him and beat him up

Bad choice.

I did this once decades ago, the retarded woman turned on me even though it was her BF beating her arse.

You cant help people who keep running back to their situation.

None of the articles I have seen mention the name of the person who shot him. Curious why? They were an adult and they killed someone, just because they shot themselves after doesn't mean they shouldn't have their name blasted.
