Apparently there are a lot of brash rich people over there that like to part with their money. TT bought their way to the championship series in softball also and made no secrets that the checkbook is open for next year. Their portal haul was impressive and several of the poached schools are hollering "tampering".

Tampering can mean a lot of different things.
There are the feelers and soft conversations that 99% of places are doing.
And then there is what Texas Tech softball did.

Got new for you 95% thatbis all that matters. Also, they have deep pockets and you will see a change in their football program. Lubbock isnt near as bad as some of you make it out. I've known people that went to school there and loved it.

It’s clearly not with some of the guys who chose LSU. We have some guys who 100% got offered more money elsewhere, but they still picked LSU
Of course LSU can pay their players well, but there are some schools (Michigan, Texas, TT, Oregon, etc) who are willing to overpay

it's a huge factor, but damn sure ain't the only factor.
these kids all have dreams of making it to the NFL.
and guarantee you they want whatever route gives them the best chance at getting there.
so money may be the factor that closes the deal when choosing between tOSU, Texas, Bama, Georgia, etc.
but when choosing between schools like those and Texas Tech, it won't be just money that decides.

Good article last month in the WSJ about their big money guy (owner of Eagle Oil among other companies). Dude is throwing big time cash into their program. They are top 2 in NIL spent this season having spent close to $30M on their football team.

Being offered more money is one thing. Being offered $12 million is absurd.
