My A/C went out around 6:00 PM yesterday. Had the capacitor changed last summer, along with a Freon charge. It’s doing the exact same thing it did last year, just air blowing, no cold.

Luckily, I have a guy willing to come out on a Sunday afternoon. The waiting is the hardest part.

That’ll be 30 minutes and $350

Dunno where you are, but it's 73 outside where I am... not a bad kinda day to have that happen on.

Currently 87° outside. It definitely could be worse.

What a dumb comment. Clearly OP is not in an area where it's 73° in August at 2pm. Literally the hottest time of year

Is Tom Petty coming to fix your AC?

The sellers wouldn't accept our offer for our vacation home. So I had to do all the e signitures for nothing.

Glad someone picked up on that, but if Tom shows up, I may have a bigger crisis.

Here is my guess/prediction. You ran your compressor without freon for too long and now you need a new compressor. And the new compressors won't work with the old condensers so you will have change both. It will cost you right at $9,000. How did my prediction come out?

I have two ACs with a portable unit for the bedroom.

You have to plan ahead for these things.

Everyone who uses a Nest thermostat has to replace their HVACs every 5-7 years and they never put two and two together

Power went out here around midnight after a popup thunderstorm. Got a text from the power co at midnight, then 2AM, then 6AM, then finally at 10AM saying the fix was indefinite. Oh, the trees that took out the power also blocked the road going in/out of our neighborhood. Having t-shirts made now that say, ‘I survived an August day in Alabama with no coffee, power, or AC’

Pretty sure my AC has been running for 3 hrs straight after the power came on at noon.

If you would’ve fixed it yourself last year, you’d be more knowledgeable about your unit and could prob trouble shoot yourself.

YouTube is your friend.

Invest in a window AC unit as a spare. They come in handy for this very situation.

I gave you the ^, absolutely stunning weekend here, 75 & <20% humidity.

At the farm, fishing, drinking beer, & wondering what the poors are doing?

Getting ready to throw some steaks that were eating grass 96 hours ago & some fish that were swimming an hour ago on the griddle.

Don’t worry coonasses you’ll have your front day in 60 - 90 days.
