Watched old vid of Greenberg discussing GOAT 2019 season. His talking points are below.
* Most points ever in a season CFB history
* Heisman, Maxwell, Walter Camp, Davey O’Brien, Biletnikoff, Jim Thorpe, Frank Boyles, Coach of the Year awards
* 15 games - never trailed in the 4th quarter
* Trailed by double digits only once all season, then went on 35-8 run (Clemson)
* Beat 7 top 10 teams - never been done before
* Beat 4 top 5 teams
* Only team ever to beat all preseason top 4 teams. 3 were our final 3 games, the 4th was Bama on the road
* Clemson, Oklahoma, Bama, Florida, Georgia - were a combined 60-4 against everyone else. LSU beat them all by an average of 20 points.

From a May 2022 column from Jeff Kleinpeter at Nola.com
“The numbers are staggering. Twenty-one of the 22 players that started in the national title game are on NFL rosters. The lone exceptions: guard Adrian Magee and punter Zach Von Rosenberg, both of whom spent time in NFL camps in previous years. Two of the team’s three specialists – kicker Cade York and long snapper Blake Ferguson – also were drafted.”
“30 players from the national championship team have been drafted by NFL teams, including seven first-round picks and eight second-day selections. Eight more players have made their way onto rosters as undrafted rookies.
When NFL teams conduct mandatory minicamps next month, 38 of the 53 players that played for LSU in the championship game against Clemson will be participating. Some might not make the cut when rosters are pared in September, but for now, the 2019 Tigers are making an indelible mark in the NFL.“

Not always a fan of Greenberg, but he was certainly right on target here.

The hilarious thing about it is you still had people bitching about the team on TD during that run

I was at a game watch in downtown Dallas. I was telling everyone that we were still going to win. By that point in the season that team seemed unstoppable.
Field possession was just terrible for so much of the first half.

Only the most ignorant Gumps would argue otherwise. I’m convinced most of them are just trolling. Nebraska and Miami fans have already accepted it as fact: 2019 LSU is the GOAT.
Feels incredible to say it with such conviction. LSU has the best single season team in the history of the sport.

Top 5 NFL qb and the two best wr's in the NFL. It's crazy to think Cee Dee Lamb is from Louisiana and could have been a Tiger too.

And the defense wasn’t at full force until the very end of the season. Partly due to grades and had several out for long periods with injuries.
The end of the season represented how great that team really was.

Listened to it again yesterday. This was the biggest take away. The amount of good team LSU beat dominantly was incredible!

That team at the end of the year was invincible

Bring this to the SEC board and show those cocksucking gumps their 2020 Covid asterisk season wasn't the GOAT

I’m still annoyed that we let Alabama close the gap in that game. Would be even more absurdly sexy when read out loud.

watered down league won't count. Ohio state could only beat 2 top 10 teams in the regular season. LSU beat 5 top 10 teams in the regular season and another 2 in the playoffs.
Ohio state beat 4 top 10 watered down teams in the new playoff system where everyone gets a trophy league. Still not even comparable to 2019 with more games and opportunities to even do it.
