Book 'em Danno. All of the team trainers. 8 counts each of medical malpractice.

Are the Astros ever going to resemble a major league roster again?

Pulling my weekly review from other thread for those who missed:

Week in review:
- The power of friendship lineup has ran its course. These guys suck
- Embarrassing 4-game sweep by the A's. Outscored 32-6
- Astros have surrendered the first run in 18 consecutive games. 11 of those being in the 1st inning
- A 12+ game division lead over Seattle and Arlington is down to 4 in the matter of 2 weeks
- Chandler if you're reading this, you're still a bitch and your media credential is useless

Injury updates:
- E-sock: presumably dead. I will go ahead and say he's out for the remainder of the year. Hell, he may miss 2026 too with this Medical Staff
- Yordan: who the hell knows
- Pena: 1 August expected return
- Melton: rehab with Space Cowboys. May as well call him back up for Hummel
- Dezenzo: N/A
- Meyers: N/A
- Spaghetti: 1 more rehab start and then he returns
- Javier: expected to return after Spaghetti
- Walter: probably visiting our good friend Tommy John. Expect some sort of misdiagnosis
- J6 France: rehab with CC Hooks
- LMJ: just a massive pussy with a blister

Looking ahead:
3 vs Washington
Off-day Thursday
3 @ Boston

I find it extremely likely that Esock, Jake, and Yordan do not play again this season.

Can we start a rumor that Chas and Hummel are betting "unders"?

If that’s the case I’d rather we avoid any big moves at the deadline. Add an average or even close to average bat so the on field product doesn’t make our eyes bleed for the next sixty days and we have a shot at a wild card.

If they think there is little to no chance Yordan Alvarez comes back, it would be foolhardy to go over the tax line or give up valued assets to improve this year's team. I think Jake comes back but I hope Melton gets most of the CF starts until then to develop because I believe he's going to be good longterm while helping now. I doubt Mullins ends up being more valuable than Melton for the rest of 2025 anyway.

I'd try like hell to do a Correa swap that dumps Walker though, even if it means throwing some money to Minny for the next two seasons.

OT but the Bryce Harper blowup on Manfred makes me think the coming lock out will cost Altuve whatever chance he has at 3K hits. He was already going to need a pretty consistent level of production and health. If they lock out a chunk or all of 2027, that chance is finished.

Well, that begs the corresponding move. Obviously clearing a spot on the 40 man, given the fact we don't have any LH batting options off the bench

Man this team is in bad shape. Our pitching was just too good at a time when all of our hitting goodwill corrected.

Following the Astros is like following my rounds of golf
