Why must the FO make it so hard to be a Pels fan

Whining like a little bitch won’t do anything about it. Stop living in the past.

Dumars is a complete idiot and this franchise is f*cked for the foreseeable future
Its gonna be a 5-7 year rebuild AFTER Dumars is fired

I like that these conclusions are made after not one game has been played

Yeah, we’ve got at minimum a decade before this team is relevant again. Fat boy drama coming this offseason.

Pelicans are a farm team that nobody outside of Louisiana cares about.
NBA will soon force them to be sold and moved to Seattle.

I do not understand this mentality at all. It was a desperate move to shake this franchise up. So, we are all in now on being a play in-playoff team. It is great. There are no more excuses or "wait until next season". It has to happen this year, or heads are going to roll. I am sick of waiting until the next year or playing it safe. There has to be higher stakes and people have to be held accountable. I have never been more excited for an upcoming season..

Backlash is mostly due to the fact that most of them don't like Queen. If it was say an Ace Bailey or a Tre Johnson that fell to 13, it would be a lot quieter here.

What do you expect to happen? Let's play this out. The most likely scenario is obviously that Zion misses serious time and this team finishes with a bottom 5 record. Now if(when) that happens, what are we gonna do to "shake it up?"
You think Gayle is gonna fire Dumars after one year?
You gonna call firing Willie a major shake-up?
Or is moving on from Zion and being really struck in the bottom of the league for the foreseeable future, the move you're looking forward to?
Get specific. What good is gonna happen when this blows up in Joe's face?
Also, if Joe feels like it "has to happen this year" that just makes him more likely to double down and make more bad trades, to cover for the first bad trade he made. He could do real damage and set us back a decade.

I cant speak for anyone else, but I haven't seen any comments here to lead me to believe that's the case for anyone here, myself included. I would be just as pissed if we traded an unprotected first for anyone other than Flagg or Harper. Those were the only two players in this draft that warranted that type of return.
I like Queen okay as a prospect. I think he's more of a project than someone who is gonna contribute much in their first year or two. If we had traded a top 10 protected first for him, id have zero problem with it. If we had included atleast top 5 protection, I wouldn't love it, but atleast I wouldn't hate it.
But putting ZERO protections on a pick for any player who isn't an ELITE prospect, in our current state, is gross negligence. I think this fanbase is so sick of losing, some of y'all are just glad to see us do "something." You dont really care what that something is, or if it makes any sense, you just wanted action.
But guarantee if we give ATL a top 5 draft pick, yall will be furious and pretending you hated it the whole time.

We will know how bad after this year. We already missing two key players the first couple months of the season.

You’ll have boot lickers tell you to move on but you’re right

You should probably just go to therapy instead of whining about it.

Dumars is starting to make David Griffin look like Pat Riley

I reject this premise entirely. Zion is on notice to perform this year or else. Sure he can get hurt and miss significant time. But even if that happens, we are not losing on purpose.
This is the simple fact people aren't comprehending. To be a "bottom 5" team, we have to tank and lose on purpose. Last year, it was 8-10 teams, that shut it down and wanted to lose. That's how we were so bad. Injuries aside, we were still a 30+ win team. If we are trying, have reasonable health, not sitting players, and forcing them to participate, we are a .500 team at worst. Maybe it all falls apart, but we still wouldn't go under 30 wins.

If we don't make the playoffs everything is on the table. Dumars will clean house, no exceptions. I'm not afraid of moving Zion if he can't deliver this year.

I reject this premise too. He's prepared for all outcomes. If it blows up, he starts it over. We have assets to move. It's not the end of the world. No matter how loaded the 26 draft is, it wasn't going to fix the franchise.

I don't see any bad trades yet. I'm guessing you don't want Queen. I do. I'm looking forward to watching him grow and develop, same with Fears. We don't get him without trading the pick. In my mind, that's #23 this year plus #15 or later next year. I like that deal. Bookmark this and let me know next year if I'm wrong. I'll still be here..

Queen will be a stud in this league! Drafts are so hit or miss. He's a big who can put it on the floor, has good vision, and finishes well. Relax, it's only dumb if he is a bust. Next year's pick could have been one. With that said should it have been top 4 protected, sure, but I've seen enough from Queen to at least feel like that wasn't a bad pick.

The Hawks do not take the deal with protections on the pick. They wanted the possible extra lottery odds. It's what made the trade attractive for them, hoping we fall apart and they get a top selection. If that pick falls out of the top 10, we won that trade in a landslide. Especially if Queen becomes a good-great starter level player. I can't wait to see the crawfishing at that point..
