Was riding with a family member and he rolled down the window some and turned the engine off.
20+ gal tank, 90+ degrees, so it got a little hot for the rest of us(5).
Up vote - keep the engine on and AC blasting
Down vote - cut the engine off

When I'm alone? Yes. I turn it off, take the keys out, and lock the door. It has nothing to do with blowing up and everything to do with not trusting people.
Other people in the vehicle? I leave it on.

If it is humid you can keep it running.
Of course, it depends on where you are. In a cultural area, you might get your car stolen. They sneak in the passenger door and still it right out from under you.

With it being outside (natural ventilation), the amount of vapors released, and the ignition sources on the vehicle.... yeah, I'm leaving that fricker running.

Nice to see the bi-weekly do you turn your engine off while pumping gas thread is still going.
No, I don't turn it off. I'm not in an action movie, my truck is not going to blow up if I pump gas with it running.

You have to a colossal pussy to not be able to sit in a previously air conditioned car for seven minutes. And if you're the a-hole that starts pumping gas, and wanders around inside the store for 20 minutes, you deserve a special kind of arse kicking.
Besides, depending on the car, it can cause the car to generate check engine codes if it's running and the gas cap isn't on.

The only people I see leaving their engine running while pumping gas are afraid it won't crank again.

Any grown men who is concerned about their car getting stolen and scanning the parking lot while pumping gas is an undercover giant pansy.
If we worried about all of the bad things that could hurt us in life with such low probabilities of actually happening. none of us would ever leave the house and we'd walk around the living room in Hazmat suits and crash helmets.

If I'm by myself I turn it off. If anyone is with me sitting in the car, I let them sit in comfort.

Leave it running. Don’t you hear about all the cars blowing up on the news every night? Exactly
F1 and NASCAR aren’t too worried about it.

We had this thread a couple months ago.

We did this thread a few months ago and the conclusion was that you were a cucked pussy if you even consider turning the car off.
