Pay for play has always been illegal. NIL "isn't pay for play" its payments to an thelete for the use of their likeness outside of sports.

What a useless executive order. It's not stopping it and it's already illegal anyway but everyone still does it. This is so easy to get around lol.

Already posted this in the other thread but I’ll post again

A new entity, the College Sports Commission LLC (CSC), will oversee revenue-sharing, NIL deals, and roster limits.

This was already in place with the House Settlement so not sure what Trump is trying to do

It also instructs Universities to open up more scholarship opportunities for other sports, besides the big 3, so schools don’t just start axing sports programs

People like to pretend this isn't the case now. It is, even if folks a working in the gray areas. And, of course, the question of how enforceable or what the mechanism for enforcement may be.

Was there not third-party funding for Bryce Underwood at Michigan? Inherently someone (ORACLE) cut a check to swing that contract.

Everything House and NIL is based on is because of Antitrust laws. so it’s winning the government authority to alter those laws.

idk if he can do it by executive order but I thjnk there is a thing argument he can.

I think this is being done to try to get people to realize what the rule is and for someone to finally enforce it

I don’t think anyone wants pay for play but where do you draw the line with NIL and enforce it ?
