The amount of these agents who pleaded with/voiced concerns to leadership that there was no underlying justification to assess that Putin wanted trump to win is heartening to see. Many seemed to catch on that they were being asked to cook stuff up.

John Brennan did not respect his guys. They were nothing to him but a means to an end.

I don’t know where these rank and file agents are now. I’d imagine it was quite the struggle to weigh doing the right thing even if it meant being embarrassed by the director when he shits on your findings, or worse, demotes you

This "intel" was stovepiped just like Iraq WMD. And retards like Decatur and DossierDoc jerked off over it for three years because the media told them to.

I believe thats likely where Tusli got her initial whistle blower from. No one knew this existed until it was handed over.

Seems the rank and file weren't too happy about being used.. but you still have to imagine some never trumpers in there were ok ignoring it

If the rank and file are honest government employees they should have been blowing the whistle on all the corruption and intel shenanigans.

When veteran CIA officials disagreed with Brennan about the Steele Dossier he didn't say he had evidence that it was true. He said it rings true. The fake dossier aligned with the lies Brennan wanted the American people to believe.

Obama was president then, but after Trump became president, they had 4 years to come forward.

FWIW, I’ve heard the same about rank and file FBI agents. A lot of them hate the politicization at the top.

They knew the story they wanted so they created the intelligence to match it.

I don't want to hear any excuses for whistleblowers not coming forward. There have been hundreds of thousands of young American men killed in battle over the past 80 year, knowing they were likely going to die on the battlefield and they marched right into the teeth of death.

But Trump didn't have any control over the FBI OR the DOJ Or the CIA. Trump was surrounded by DS scum. The potential whistle blowers knew they had a much much higher chance of being "47 86" than anything getting done.

Brennan voted for the Communist Party's candidate vs Jimmy Carter. He openly admitted it the time.

Of course this is true.

And moreover, the reality is that we give these people a job and tell them to obsess about something and then new leadership may come in on a platform that says "hey don't worry about that thing you've spent a decade immersed in." And they react to that. It's just the nature of the job. Ask Michael Scheuer or John O'Neill. I'm not justifying elements of the FBI or CIA that intentionally tried to undermine Trump, but there is no way to do what CIA is asked to do and not to develop some pretty cult/hive-like tendencies. And those aren't just agency vs. WH or Congress or whatever, it's internal to the agencies as well, perhaps even more so.

We can decide as a country whether that's something we can live with/manage or not, but it's inherent to intel agencies all over the world.

Just like the 51 intelligence officers who signed off on the letter that stated Hunter's laptop had "all the earmarkings of a Russian Intel operation", without stating that directly.

I think we'll find a lot of "read between the lines" language was used in this case to push the investigation forward. That language may keep a lot of people out jail. I guess it depends on what the definition of "is" is...
