Shout out to Tre Morgan

We took our son to the Durham Bulls game Tuesday night for his birthday. He wanted to see Tre Morgan play (got to see Jacob Berry too) and get a baseball card signed by him.
I was very impressed with how he carries himself.
Before the game, Tre interacted with the fans and signed autographs for several kids. He was one of a few to do so. Our son was decked out in his gold LSU home baseball jersey. It was neat see Tre take a couple of seconds to give him a quick shout out on the jersey while he signed his card.
Our seats were right by the Bull's dugout and our daughter made a sign that said, "Hey Tre it's my bro's birthday". She held it up while they were jogging off the field in between innings during the game. Not only did he acknowledge the sign, he went in the dugout and came back out with a baseball. He tossed it to our son and gave him a smile.
I know those guys get hounded for attention. Heck, we were guilty of begging for it ourselves. But it's refreshing to see someone take the time to acknowledge it and be genuine in the interaction like Tre was tonight. They were simple things for him, but it meant the world to our kids.
Awesome job Tre!

Tre' is the MAN!
The artist of the single greatest play in LSU sports or college baseball history!
I will never forget the roller coaster of emotions that game vs Wake gave us.

How did tre play? Did they win?

He's hitting .288 and .418 OBP in Triple A. I think he's a September call up at worst this year.

if not - one of - but we don't win in 23 without that play he made - a play I seriously doubt any other first basemen in college baseball could have or would have made - I'll always remember.

Dude arguably made the most clutch play in LSU history, considering what was on the line, difficulty of action, and did it with no hesitation.

Tre and Warren Morris have to be 1-2 with whatever order

In his explanation, Tre said that he got the call wrong and charged when he should have stayed back. When CJJ described the play he made it sound like the call was executed. I’d still like to know the truth of that because it adds drama to an outstanding play.

Tre has always been fanstastic with the kids, even during his time at LSU. Seems like he's always made it a point to sign autographs before and after games. Tiger legend!!

He signed a ball for my nephew when we went to a game when he was still playing for LSU. Solid guy and great player!

That was our experience with Tre last season. We had a chance to see him in Pensacola when he was playing with the Mont. Biscuits. He saw my kids' LSU gear, and came over and talked with them. He took a good bit of time to talk with them, sign balls and a mini helmet for my son, and took photos. Very nice young man. It made an impression on all of us.
Similarly with Jacob Berry. He was playing with our Blue Wahoos. After a game, my kids lined up for autographs. I gave a quick "Geaux Tigers" and he looked up with a huge smile, ear to ear, and pointed at us and said: "Yeah man! Geaux Tigahs!" He then came over to sign for my kids, and talked with us a bit. You can tell he had a tremendous amount of LSU pride, which was great being that he was only with us for a short time.
I can't wait to watch both of these guys in The Show, hopefully very soon!

Great story. If you are ever in a high profile position, just remember people are watching how you behave and interact with the public. When youngsters look up to you, do what Tre did. It's such a small thing to do, but means so much to a kid. He will always remember it.

LeMahieu has won 4 gold gloves and Alex Bregman is a gold glove winning 3B. I know this story is great, but Tre Morgan is not best defensive player in LSU school history.

Always surprised he's not in the show. Dude looked like a major leaguer at the plate in college.
