26 and had started every game (when healthy) for the Colts over 5 years. Looks like a solid pickup this late in the process

Sign this cat. He was with the Colts for 4 or 5 seasons and he's solid.
This is good news in my opinion.

if he gets hurt, I don't want to hear anymore "well we dealt with injuries and that had an effect on our season" talk from Mickey.

So he fits right in

Why was he still a FA? Hoping for the best, but there’s usually a reason an asset stays on the open market

Why do the Colts always have so many anonymous, no-name players?

Grok:
Here are Julian Blackmon’s advanced coverage statistics for the 2024 NFL season, based on available data:
• Completion Percentage Allowed: 69.4% (targets completed when he was the primary defender)
• Yards Allowed: 434 yards
• Interceptions: 3
• Touchdowns Allowed: 3
• Passer Rating When Targeted: 103.2
• Missed Tackle Rate: 14.0%
For the 2023 season, for comparison:
• Completion Percentage Allowed: 60.9%
• Yards Allowed: 331 yards
• Interceptions: 4
• Touchdowns Allowed: 0
• Passer Rating When Targeted: 46.6
• Missed Tackle Rate: 4.3%
Additional Notes:
• In 2023, Blackmon had a PFF coverage grade of 73.5, ranking 21st out of 121 safeties.
• In a notable 2023 game, he earned a PFF defensive grade of 90.9 (6th in the NFL) and a pass coverage grade of 91.1 (highest in the NFL).
• His 2024 performance showed a decline in coverage effectiveness, with a higher completion percentage and passer rating allowed compared to 2023, though he maintained a solid interception count.
These stats reflect his role as a starting safety for the Indianapolis Colts, where he played 16 games in 2024, recording 86 combined tackles, 0.5 sacks, and 4 passes defended.

Julian Blackmon’s advanced coverage statistics for the 2024 NFL season, compared to other safeties, are as follows:
• PFF Coverage Grade: Blackmon earned a 73.5 coverage grade from Pro Football Focus (PFF), ranking 23rd out of 171 qualifying safeties.
• Overall PFF Grade: His overall PFF grade of 69.3 ranked 48th among 170 qualifying safeties.
• Defensive Stops: Blackmon recorded 12 defensive stops, placing him outside the top 50 safeties, a significant drop from his 2023 performance where he tied for 6th with 30 stops.
• Missed Tackle Rate: His missed tackle rate was 14.0% in 2024, which is not ranked specifically but is notably higher than his 7.4% in 2023, when he had the 9th best missed tackle percentage among safeties with at least 400 snaps.
• Passer Rating Allowed: Blackmon allowed a passer rating of 103.2 when targeted in 2024, a decline from his 2023 performance where he ranked 7th with a 57.5 passer rating allowed.
• Interceptions: His three interceptions in 2024 tied him for approximately 20th among safeties, based on league-wide interception leaders (top safeties like Kerby Joseph and Xavier McKinney had 8-9 interceptions).
Context and Comparison:
• In 2024, top safeties like Xavier McKinney (90.2 PFF coverage grade, 2nd) and Brian Branch (77.8 PFF coverage grade) set the benchmark for elite coverage performance.
• Blackmon’s transition to a deep safety role in 2024 (88% of snaps at deep safety) from a more versatile box/slot role in 2023 impacted his stats, particularly in defensive stops.
• His coverage grade of 73.5, while respectable, places him in the “good” range (70-79.9 per PFF’s grading system) but not among the elite or high-quality safeties (80+).
Summary: Blackmon ranks in the top 25 for coverage grade among safeties in 2024 but falls to the middle of the pack (around 48th) in overall performance. His interception totals keep him competitive, but his higher missed tackle rate and passer rating allowed in 2024 show a decline from his stronger 2023 season, where he was a top-10 performer in several metrics. For a more precise ranking in specific categories, additional data from sources like PFF+ would be needed.

You read it above, over under on games played would be 5 or 6. For Blackmon to be available shows no team thinks he can stay healthy.

Really just making stuff up at this point, huh? Blackmon has never played less than 6 games in his five seasons, and no less than 14 games in four out of the five.

Cut the shite and go terrorize someone else’s board.

Don’t even respond to that dude. He’s just a troll. Hopefully his parents are dead so they don’t have to see what kind of loser he is. He’ll go away once people quit responding to him
