According to tipster @Jukanlosreve, the iPhone Fold will feature a 7.8-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch cover display. It will reportedly be powered by Apple's A20 Pro chipset, built on TSMC's 2nm process. Other rumored specifications include 12GB of RAM and storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.

For imaging, the device is expected to offer a 48MP wide-angle primary camera and a 48MP ultra-wide secondary shooter. Notably, it may also debut Apple's own C2 baseband modem for 5G connectivity, potentially making it the first device to use an Apple-designed baseband chip.

These are all unofficial pictures/specs, but they're likely not too far from the real numbers.

that apple ingenuity!

Bring it on! As a shareholder, I welcome this news because Apple's customer base is very loyal.

I’ll buy it. I had a Samsung Fold for a while and loved it except for the fact that it wasn’t an iPhone.

The same people who complain about the cost of living going up will happily sign themselves into a payment plan to purchase it just so they can show it off to others.

Who the frick really NEEDS a foldable phone?

It is only too much when people stop buying them.

Apple fanboys will drop $2k on these without question.

Idiots, IMO.

The average person walks around with a phone in their pocket that is worth more than they have in savings.

so it'll be the same price as the Samsung foldable phone?

people freak out about the prices of these phones, but I still think they are cheap to what they can do and how much we use them in our day to day lives

Smart phones reached feature saturation years ago.

If you buy a new smartphone every year you're either very wealthy or very dumb.

I was in that club from about the iphone 4 thru 8 I believe.

Traded my 8 for a 14 and I am still rocking my 14. It's an amazing device and the only thing that will make me get rid of it is when Apple stops supporting it.

Can anyone say they know someone who does this?

This is a persistent trope on TD (and the internet in general?) that a large percentage of people are buying a new iphone every year (without trading their old one in). I don't know a single person who does this. The average person seems to be on a 2-3 year cycle at the very least.

After 4 years I traded in my iPhone 12 pro max and got an 800 dollar credit towards my new 16 pro max.

My after tax price, net of trade in, for my brand new iphone was like 350 bucks.
