Could you cut off liberal friends/family if it came down to it?

The great news is, you usually don't have to. I find they typically cut themselves off from the rest of us.

Friends, easily. Family, never unless it's some cousin-in-law.

Never, but I have plenty of leftist friends that have cut off their families and encourage others to do so. It is sad.

Then, they have the nerve to say anyone that voted for Trump is in a "cult".

I don’t think I have any, outside of some minor acquaintances and relatives in different parts of the country that I never see or talk to anyway.

Wouldn’t be a problem at all.

Family, no. I’m not a terrible person though.

Friends would depend on the situation. If they just vote different I don’t care. If they start going to protests and all they do is bitch about politics then probably

I believe that is what is called an oxymoron.

I was about to post this. The further left someone is the faster they will dump their conservative friends and family.

I don’t generally cut people off.

If the progressive wants to cut me off, so be it.

No one knows my political beliefs outside of my family though.

My sister was more conservative than I,
and we remained close until her death. Neither of us felt the need to distance ourselves. I really don’t get the need to cut anybody off.

If they act civil and respectful it’s no problem for me being friends. Most libs I know can’t handle those basic requirements. Family can be different. I’m not going to let them keep me from seeing my mom at Christmas. We may not see each other again all year, lol.

No.

Politics might be my interest online... but offline, with family and friends, I tend to be in the moment and loving them. Even my young, pierced, often blue haired severely lefty relative- love her to pieces.

I'm not sacrificing what's real- family and friends... for the fake outrage that is modern politics.

It’s too general a question as it would be case by case. Are they constantly throwing it in my face? Are they hostile? Just minor annoyances?

Most likely I would slowly distance myself sort of subconsciously or unintentionally because who wants to deal with that?

Close family? I would not “cut off” for most reasons
