Hearing some work is being done behind the scenes to lock him down.

He is actively recruiting for the class.

I would be pretty shocked at this point if he didn’t end up at LSU.

Hope so...but that's what Underwood was doing too so...I'll just stay cautiously optimistic

I don’t recall underwood being very involved in recruiting others which always struck me as odd. Maybe I missed it but I don’t recall him being very active in that regard

I’d assume no one is going to come slinging $12 million at him though. With LSUs increased efforts with NIL since the Underwood situation, it has to give you a bit more confidence that LSU can hold players they want in NIL competition.

I am so tired of people equating EVERY top player's recruitment to Underwood’s. The literal second richest man in the world at that time offered the kid 12 mill. That was more than double what we offered. When you get to late first round draft money, you cant blame any damn body switching up. We're over here talking 6 figures up to 2 mill for the top guys we have, not 12 damn million. Different levels.

I get why we still use Underwood as a reference, but it is completely apples to oranges

Keys
Darby
Mack
Matthews (hopefully)

That’s absolutely sick.

If I’m not mistaken, I think Bryce Underwood i was also recruiting for the class. We see how that turned out.

Teams are going to be in their ears telling them all they are a #1 receiver. Going to be extremely tough to hold onto all 4 if Matthews commits.

I'll be happy with Darby, mack, and one of matthews or keys.

Let's assume all our current starting WRs go pro/graduate which could easily happen. Nic and Aaron Anderson are both juniors but are starters that could do enough this year to get drafted. Chris Hilton, Barion Brown, and Zavion Thomas are all seniors. There's a chance that 2 or maybe even 3 of those 2026 guys get on the field as a starter. MVB will be in his 2nd year as LSU, and JuJuan will he in his 3rd. A true scrambling qb with those elite WRs could be fun to watch next season.

No one is coming with 12 million but they could come with an offer 30-50% higher and that would make all the difference. That's what Texas has done lately. They blow the original offers out of the water and it doesn't take more than a couple hundred grand to do it.

Also I believe Underwoods references generally are intended to highlight the lack of loyalty he showed. That is always relevant until a kid is signed sealed and delivered.

Word will start spreading around the first of the month. Some recruitments will go dark and legitimately be shut down. Others will remain open. Aug 1st is contract day.

I don’t think it’s a situation like underwood. But it is like every other situation where player is seeking big bucks. The situations are always fluid until they sign. Sucks but have to have reserved excitement with commitments in this landscape.
