Ruger American Gen II Ranch in 5.56 — Stick with 5.56 or Jump to .300 BLK?

Looking for some advice from folks who’ve run the Ruger American Gen II Ranch — particularly in 5.56.

I’m eyeing this rifle as a dual-purpose tool:

Trainer for my 6-year-old son

Hog and occasional deer gun — especially for night hunts where I can slap a thermal on it and quietly drop a big sow

Here's my current setup:
--Polonium K 5.56 suppressor (would love to keep using this across platforms)
--Tacticon 1-6x LPVO (just need to add a QD mount to swap with my thermal)
--Plenty of 5.56 ammo already on hand

I like the Ranch model because it’s compact enough for use in a climbing stand, unlike my .308 7600 pump which is too long and bulky

My dilemma:

Should I stick with 5.56 and maximize what I already have?

Or should I bite the bullet and go .300 Blackout, get a .30 cal can down the line, and set this rifle up for quieter terminal performance on game?

I’ve dropped a 300+ lb boar with M855 before, so I know 5.56 can do the job with the right shot, but .300 BLK is definitely tempting for subsonic suppression and better expansion on hogs.
