Lake Isabel Farm, home to a crystal-clear private lake, is now open to the public for day passes and cabana bookings. Just over an hour from New Orleans and 30 minutes from Covington, Lake Isabel offers white sand, pristine water, and a mile-long private lake surrounded by nature in Washington Parish. Owners say whether you’re looking for a relaxing beach day, a group getaway, or a peaceful place to unplug, Lake Isabel Farm delivers an experience unlike anything else in the region.

With a rare combination of crystal-clear water, thoughtful design, and space to unwind, Lake Isabel Farm is poised to become one of Louisiana’s most unique outdoor destinations. Book your visit now and be among the first to experience it
I wonder if you can smell the paper mill from there.
Pretty cool though

They added Bogalusa to one of the I-12 exits by Covington/Mandeville and people got so angry, the old signs without Bogalusa on them were put back up.
That town sucks. Like, even worse than Slidell.

There’s also the historical attraction of “Studio in the Country” where Kansas recorded Leftoverature featuring Carry On Wayward Son and other Platinum albums.
Worth a visit if you’re a music fan and already in the area.

Bogalusa > Bawcomeville

If they branded it as a destination for people who like sniffing farts it would be a top spot. Might have some Monroe competition but I bet the fart jar chick would make appearances there for conventions.

2 segments of I-12 to Bush are open. Only one to go before you can go from I-12 to Bogalusa on a 4 lane highway.

Bush to Bogalusa has been 4-lane since the late 80's so if I-12 takes you to Bush the 4-lane is already there. Growing up in the area, I never heard of this lake but it looks very nice if the water is actually that color. And to the other comment, if it is close to Bogalusa, yes you can and will smell the Paper Mill.

Yeah that’s what the post said. The only segment left to build is from LA 36 to I-12 before you can take a 4 lane highway from I-12 to Bogalusa.

Stevie Wonder also recorded there as well as hard rock group Cinderella. At the time, it was alleged to be the best recording studio in the US.

Look at a Google maps satellite view of the area and you’ll see drastically different colored lakes. We have one in the area that’s an older quarry, spring fed and is blue like that.

Isabel is listed as Bogalusa but it’s at the very southern part of WP. I doubt you’ll smell the mill unless there’s a wind from the direct north, which ain’t in July. The mill really smells up the east side of town. I may or may not own a house that way that we call a camp and it’s on Airbnb, although it’s booked long term right now. If you happen to give that lake a go I’d suggest heading to the club car lounge in Bogalusa. Good food and drink variety. Open Thursday through Saturday. It probably wouldn’t make for a bad day trip. WP has a shite load of public access water if you’re into that sort of thing. Just be careful of the sills(dams) at the canals.

But will it stay that way with all the trashy visitors? That is the question.

The lake really is that blue. The White Sands lake is really deep. So it’s a green water. You can see the difference on google maps satellite view.
