I wake up at about 2:30 if I'm at my house and driving to MS to make a day hunt. I go to bed at around 730 so it's not that bad.

2;00am when I was a kid going with my dad to duck hunt Russell Sage. We would get to the parking lot about 3am. Boat in to one of the "good" holes. I'd sleep on a log until close to shooting hours while he flash lighted people away. It was good times and we had some great hunts. But I'm glad those days are over...

Everything from never slept (drive through the night) to 2:15 to get to Mississippi for a morning hunt early in bow season

The worst is 3 am to duck hunt Big Branch 15 minutes from my house but spots are limited so I wanted to be there first

deer, hog, or squirrels. I keep planning on hitting the wood ducks but every time I try to find a spot I end up finding good deer sign and hunting that instead.

I used to fairly regularly get up at 2am, drive from Lafayette to Grand Isle to kayak fish, then drive home that evening. I once got pulled over by police in Broussard ~2:30 who couldn't understand that I was just now leaving to go fish, kept asking what I'd caught that day. I think he thought I was coming up drunk from fishing all day.

I have woke up say at 5 am the day before going hunting or fishing and not gone back to sleep until after hunting or fishing the next day....maybe 38 hours or so without sleeping.

Yeah I can’t count how many times I have finished a shift only to go home and immediately begin rigging poles, prepping the boat, etc. Load up and go without any sleep. Make the drive down to the coast, fish, and drive back. On a good day I can go back to the camp to take a nap and stay for the night but many times have to make it a single day suicide trip.

Opening day for ducks at Toledo Bend 20ish years ago when it was packed. Leave Ruston after bars close early Saturday morning and drive to Bison launch to meet the guys that were already out there standing around bon fire.
So long story short, never go to bed.

We left at 4:00 once for a 16 hour fishing charter. Woke up around 2:30, packed the cooler, drove to the marina, got back around 8:00 PM. A solid 12 hours of fishing time.

3:30 duck hunting in Spring Bayou WMA. We hunted flooded timber. Me, my dad and grandfather would pile in a single cab truck with the three wheeler in the back and drive 10 miles unload at the gates. Then we'd all get on the three wheeler and drive a mile or two. Then we'd walk in hip boots on dry land until we hit water and it was deep enough to get into the pirogue we'd stashed in the summer. Then we'd paddle a mile or two to the holes. It's public land but my dad and grandpa hunted the same holes for 50 years. I was young.

You can see the small openings in the woods here.

When I was in a duck hunting club in AR I'd wake up 3 to 3:30 to get over there to hunt. 2 or 2:30 hr drive.

I went on a fly fishing trip in Mexico one time. Had to get up at 2:30 I think. They picked me up and then we drove around 2-3 hours north. Last hour was a dirt/sand road.

Jumped 5 and land one tarpon and caught a couple of snook.

My dad used to wake us up around 1:30 so we could make it down to the coast and be on the water for sunrise.
