Finally some good news
Perhaps a little bird told him he was next up on a guy who already has a very short leash

It's highly troubling that if you told me today, Green was fired and Borrego was now HC; and the pels did nothing else this offseason, I'd probably add 8-10 wins to our total.
And we are still gonna roll with Willie Green. It's just preposterous.

I think he’s the favorite to replace Willie soon.

Another post on here, said Pels denied him going because it was a lateral move.

Best news of the offseason.

Yeah that’s what I meant. Give me a few games in season to prove he’s the man for the job.

Willie Green is supposedly on his final year of his contract so I don't think they fire him mid season since they like the guy. They'll just let him expire and go in a different direction.

Does Zion stop being a lazy fatass in this Borrego hypothetical? Because that’s the only way a head coaching change results in anything close to that difference.

Again with this irrational confidence when it comes to James fricking Borrego
Dude is trying his damndest to leave NOLA every offseason and can't. Yet we have fans out here treating him like he is some savant.

That should tell you how bad Willie is.

James has become overrated and Willie has become underrated at this point.
James career record is 148-183 in the Eastern Conference
And Willie's is 148-180, with a shitty franchise guy with low availability and leadership, an arguably bad GM in Griff, and historic horrendous injury luck to his roster.

Huh?
I mean, Willie is bad, but Borrego not being able to leave NOLA despite his agent constantly leaking him to Marc Stein and Shams has nothing to do with Willie.

Removing Willie is addition by subtraction in and of itself regardless of who replaces him. It's really not having to do with Borrego, it's more to do with I cant think of one positive thing to say about Willie; what are his strengths? Doesn't hurt that the team looked terrific in the one game Borrego stepped in for Willie when he was sick, but that could have been a fluke for one game for sure.
Also, the rumors of the team already tuning out willie, doesn't really matter who replaces him if that's the case. It's a foregone conclusion, why make it wait. The players probably realize it more than we do.
Maybe 10 games is hyperbole.

Despite the Knicks' interest in hiring Borrego as an associate head coach after hiring Brown, the Pelicans denied permission for him to leave for a lateral move,

That’s Gayle.

NBA head coaches are far less important to win totals than most people give them credit for. The quality of a head coach only matters at the margins.
