By far the biggest winner is ICE
Also, border communities and towns which are about to get a huge infusion of indirect cash via juiced border patrol hiring, ICE holding facilities, etc
All these new jobs and immigration infrastructure will prop up communities in which they are placed

I’m winning but most of it is part of my own stupidity.
Could have paid cash for a nice house here in Texas but went in debt so now I get to write off $43,000 in interest and $16,000 in property taxes. Plus charity donations and local sales tax.
I’m gonna blow my tax return next year fyi. Got to boost the economy.

Winners - Democrats in 2026 Congressional Races
Losers - GOP will be blamed for an unpopular bill.
The Democrats have convinced the public this bill only benefits billionaires.

Yeah, and when people file 2025 tax returns next spring and realize they have thousands more in their pockets, that will all be forgotten.
Avg person doesn't give a shite about the debt and as long as the medicaid stuff is as it seems, only those ineligible being kicked off, then this will be a huge win in most peoples eyes.

Be able to deduct certain expenses is nice but you are spending $1 to save $0.37 in taxes. Personally, I avoid interest at all costs.

Wait for GoFundMe to have an IPO…. They are about to be America’s biggest provider of medical care funding

When are the changes effective? If they don’t take become effective until January 1, 2026, they won’t see any changes until they file 2026 tax returns.

Didn’t you listen to Temu Obama explain that for 8 hours?

Get 10% bigger tax return
Dollar drops by 20% in value

I don’t know one person who voted for Trump who will actually believe this bullshite. You are telling me that no tax on tips or overtime will be “unpopular”? Again, bullshite. The only people who will be mad are the able bodied grifters who lose Medicaid coverage and all those losers and welfare queens vote Democrat. The only bad part of the BBB was all the “moderate” Republicans who extorted pork to vote for an obviously good tax cut bill. Those Shylockes are who hurt the Republican brand.

He seems like a cool dude, but never misses an opportunity to tell you about his fancy house and nice cars.

quote:Right. It's not a one size fits all though. We had an exceedingly high tax bill this year along with a pile of deductions. But interest expensing was not amongst them for the first time in awhile.

Current rates are simply too high to make that equation work reliably. When rates were lower, pre-covid, we carried a standard note, and borrowed against our portfolio for a second vacay place as an inflation hedge. It was all deductible. But when we sold-and-purchased in a different market last year, we just cashed out.
Spending $1 to save $0.37 in taxes works 7 ways to Sunday as long as the borrow cost does not approach reliable, conservative ROI. It doesn't work as an elective money tool if the borrow cost exceeds ROI, or threatens to.

I live vicariously through rize's spending. He isn't obnoxious about it and he acknowledges he hasn't always been the best with money.

Rize lays it out there. I too enjoy his honest adventure. I find a lot of “been there and done that” in his posts. Makes me smile.
