When I was young I only formed eye boogers when I slept. Nowadays I have crusty eyes late in the afternoon too. Am I dying or simply dealing with old age?

Unfortunately it comes with old age, so you must be an old fart at this point. When I achieved old fart status I had to have my cataracs removed, and then shortly after the eye boogers began to appear during waking hours. My eye doctor turned me on to Ocusoft. It is an eyelid scrub that works really well. Comes in little pocket size packets, and you just wipe your eye lids with the little towelettes. It comes in "Original" and "Plus."

My crustiness is at the other end of me, more annoying in summer.

My mid 40’s age blast brought me some consistent eye problems that no doc can properly diagnose. We aren’t supposed to live this long, I guess.

The best I got for you is get some eye drops and try to stay at it 4 times a day. It’ll flush the gunk out of your eyes.

You have what I have also. It's called blepharitis, a staph infection of the eyelid margins. The problem is said to be incurable but it causes no harm. To minimize the problem face into warm shower spray with closed eyes and spray your eyelids.

blepharitis

It's an acute case of Optirectitis.

That's when the long nerve between your eyes and rectum becomes enflamed and you develop a sh*tty outlook on life.

Maybe a trip down to Tractor Supply for a little apple paste might be appropriate.

I think this is due to the Saharan dust that has been blowing up from the gulf this week. I notice that I have the same thing every time that occurs.

I had to have a cornea removed due to damage. The eye boogers come and go, but I’ll use Ocusoft wipes when it starts to piss me off.
