Prior to 1969, all Catholic masses were said in Latin with the priest facing away from the laity. This was called the Tridentine Mass. Today its known to Catholics as the Traditional Latin Mass. Since 1969, however, worship has been done in the vernacular, with that service known officially as the Novus Ordo Missae ("New Order of the Mass").

Anyways...the TLM was dormant for much of the following 40 years. However, in 2007, Pope Benedict XVI gave the bishops permission to begin using the TLM once more. In 2021, Pope Frances reversed that decision and told bishops to phase out the TLM from Sunday worship. He claimed the bishops recommended this decision on the basis of unity. However, it turns out he was lying.

Catholics have so many man made symbolisms that the Pope and Bishops can’t even agree on which one to use.

So Catholics think the answer to people not attending mass is to start performing it in a language no one understands?

Rather than having a service (which they refer to as a mass.) in a language which everyone could understand, the priests in the distant past intoned the mass in Latin. They sometimes provided a program for people to read so they could kind of follow along. Later, they went to all local languages. But then there was a desire from some people to go back to hearing at least parts of the service in Latin because they enjoyed their old tradition. It is kind of pretty to hear, but I would rather understand it all more fully - if it were my church.

But since you do not adhere to the traditions of the Church of Rome, it does not affect you at all.

I think that it should be optional for the attendees to choose which type of service they would like to attend, but apparently someone is claiming that a pope lied about the consensus regarding this issue.

No. They think that some of the older members enjoy hearing the mass in the traditional Latin and there should be some freedom of choice in this matter.
I am not endorsing the Church of Rome, but it see the point that many of their members are making.

No different than the Protestants and their massive pedophile scandals except the media loves to cover Catholics. Both were despicable.

The fact that Protestants, particularly Southern Baptists, decided to double down and continue their coverup as the Catholics were being exposed for past pedophiles is astounding. What was their thinking process? “Hey, they are really going after Catholics from those pedophiles in the 20th century, I know what we will do with our pedophile situation that is happening right now, we’ll cover it up and nobody will ever find out!”

I think it should be more important, and make a whole lot more sense, to deliver the message in a language that isn't dead.
