Unbelievable! Cold blooded murder of two kids. One wonders which judge will get this one.

Baton Rouge doesn't want ti retry him. Federal judge ordered it.
quote:

District Attorney Hillar Moore said he and his office "respectfully disagree with the judge’s decision and notice of intent to appeal his ruling has been filed."

"The ramifications of this order cannot be overstated," Moore said. "The State of Louisiana will be forced to carry the egregious burden of presenting the entirety of this horrific case to another jury. These twelve individuals will not be able to make a knowing and informed decision about whether to impose the death penalty without a full understanding of this defendant’s heinous conduct."

Damn...that's awful....absolutely brutal circumstances as I think she was on the phone to 911 begging for him not shoot her...freaking dishwasher guy on a Sunday morning after a busy Saturday night..so he knew it'd be a good bit of money

ETA: and in the 90s, a lot of cash transactions...not just credik or debik

I used to have a cassette tape of the 911 call I got from a buddy at BRPD. It was bad. Real bad.

I think it's only penalty phase being retried.

that’s correct and this is a court order not a city of BR decision. So, nothing in the OP is actually accurate

“BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - 2023 - It was another round of reviews from the Louisiana Board of Pardons Monday morning. The first one up was Todd Wessinger, who was convicted of murdering 3 people while robbing Calendars restaurant 28 years ago. Folks who spoke on his behalf say since his time behind bars he’s become a changed man of faith, has participated in several rehabilitation programs, and has behaved well.”

Sounds like he’s ready to meet Jesus.

I served on this jury. POS should have been put down decades ago.

And yes, we heard the 911 tape of Stephanie Guzzardo (she was on the phone with them when he came in her office) begging, pleading for her life, for him not to shoot her, heard the gunshot, heard her take her last breath.
He killed two, shot another in the back (who survived), and tried to shoot a fourth, but the gun misfired. There is ABSOLUTELY no doubt that he committed these crimes.

The LA Supreme Court denied his appeal and three post-conviction petitions denied.
The US Supreme Court denied his appeal.
Now he's arguing that we as jurors weren't told enough about his bad childhood. Complete bullshite. This has been going on for THIRTY years. This is ridiculous. I feel so bad for the Guzzardo and Breakwell families. They deserve better.

He should already be dead. Years ago. She begged for her life and he still shot her point blank.

Unfknbelievable.

Either fry this POS, or release him (maybe society will get lucky and he'll catch a head shot).
