I just realized it’s been approximately 2 years since I’ve had a cold. This is usually the time of year I would get one. Is anyone else affected similarly?

I don’t want to get political but could RFK be a little bit to blame?

Last icky sicky I had was covid once back in maybe first quarter of 2021.

I didn't test, but hubby had to for work. It wasn't a fun covid- worst and weirdest headache of my life.

Got them every year living in Wisconsin and then the inevitable sinus infection would follow which was fun! I am done living in cold climates, I understand that cold by itself doesn't cause you to catch the virus but the winter did me in every year.

Haven't had one in years but had the flu about 10 years ago and it was pretty rough. Never had it but once. Did have COVID once, apparently, but had I not been tested I would have thought it was hay fever. I suspect most folks have had every known cold virus there is by the age of 10 or so but may be wrong.

I had Covid 4 or 5 times in 2020-2023. It sucked. I don’t think I’ve been sick since though.

The thing is people flooded the ER when they had a cough, taking away from those that we in a life threatening position. It caused the strain on the health care system. My mother with a real emergency had to lay on a gurney in the hall because of those fools. There was no "cure" so it was pointless unless you were in real distress.

It's been years for me since I've had a cold. Now, I do suffer from sinus conditions in the spring, especially when the oak trees in my area get to dropping that yellow pollen for weeks at a time.

Other than that, I'm good as far as colds go.

I don't get it? Are you saying he gets sick a lot? That's actually not normal you know.

yes. he goes to school, plays soccer and goes the jumpy trampoline parks and the flu, sinus infections and strep throat runs rampant here.

it was so bad this past winter they actually closed the entire school down for a week.

so yes its quite normal here.

quote:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Some school districts across Tennessee will be closed the week of Feb. 10 - Feb. 14 due to sickness and predicted weather causing flooding.

The following schools are closed:

Lawrence County Schools: Closed Friday due to illness.
Maury County Schools: Closed for a scheduled day off Friday and Monday. Students are set to return Tuesday, Feb. 18.
Warren County Schools: Closed Thursday and Friday (Virtual Learning Day) due to predicted flooding and illness.

Flu activity in Tennessee has been high this season, with the state ranking 4th in the nation for cases.

Honestly don't remember. I made it through this whole winter without an illness. And I had had the kiddo home with the flu twice and a boyfriend with Covid there for a week as well.
