How did you make it that long before an increase?

Well that is disappointing. Liberty Mutual did the same thing to me and I was about to call Allstate to switch.

8 years with All State - insurance companies don't deserve any loyalty. Could what they consider an "old" roof, like 7-8 years. Risk profile for your area could have changed. Shop it around and hopefully you will be surprised.

Your individual claim history doesn’t have that great of an impact
Shop around

As someone who deals with homeowners insurance every day, you need to get as far away from Allstate as soon as possible. Thankfully you didn't have a claim and just had some cheap insurance for 8 years.

Now it's time to switch to someone else before you actually have to have a claim. They are the worst homeowners insurance by a mile. That's pretty impressive considering how bad State Farm is.

They have been writing super super cheap policies for years now and the price hike was just a matter of time.

Get quotes from Shelter Farm Bureau and USAA (if possible).

Where do you live? How big is your house, value, etc? Consider yourself lucky you were paying $1,300 for as long as you were. Hell, 3,000 ain't bad compared to what some people are paying.

I had to sue Allstate to pay out after Katrina. They lost but I lost 1/3 to the lawyer.

I have had SF for almost 25 years. My rates have increased yearly, and significantly recently, both auto and home. No claims. I work for an insurance company for 29 years. The rate increases now really have nothing to do with claims history. It is mostly due to cost of materials and labor for repairs, for both home and auto. Loyalty does not exist any longer.

Um, Sargeant Major Blane literally tells us the opposite.

Where are you located? All State has been giving it away the last few years.

Lol where do you live and how small is your house?

Mine was about 3k in 2020. Jumped about $1000 a year since then until this year when it jumped to 13k

Shopped around and got it back down to 5500

USAA tried raping me when I got a quote.

I currently have Allied trust but my insurance AND my deductible both just went up. I went from my original named storm deductible of $2500 pre Ida, to 2% and now 3%.

I see the problem.

The Allstates and State Farms of the world ARE NOT YOUR INSURANCE AGENTS PEOPLE!

These agents work for the company and can only give you the company’s products or coverage.

A State Farm agent is not your insurance agent. He’s an agent of State Farm.

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

Find a reputable Independent Agent and do business with them*

They are YOUR agent, they do not represent the company.

/rant

*in a tiny minority of specific cases, a good Independent Agent will correctly tell you to use a State Farm or Allstate, etc. But usually only for a policy year or two until the markets change.
